I'd be amazed, and disappointed, if Melbourne started playing ducks and drakes with their draft picks.
Better to use them to secure the players you want/need, than to try and upset some other teams plans!

why would Melbourne potentially waste pick 3 on green? he is not a type they are short on and trying to be smart could backfire massively
GWS are desperate for Green... they WILL match any bid.

It's in all clubs best interest to make GWS pay a fair price for Green. He’s a top 5 pick in quality and it’s not right if GWS are able to get him for pick 40.

you would certainly hope so from a Melbourne p.o.v and it would not be the worst thing if a eastern team gets an advantage considering how many players they lose due to "homesickness"

I feel like the Crows definitely won this one, moving up 6 spots, that’s not to say Freo lost though with some snakes and ladders obviously going on to get Melbourne’s pick 8.
Yes its doing my head in trying to work out the machinations going on behind some of these pick swaps. Dees also did well with their trade with GWS. With the bid matching system its created a scenario where the exact same pick can have a vastly different value to a different club. I just wish that with the Eagles lack of decent picks in the next couple of drafts that we had some decent academy guys coming through that we could essentially get for loose change ;)
