This is good info to know now. Even if Lynch doesn’t play round 1, it sounds like if Balta did play then he would be straight out when Lynch returns.

Petruccelle v Parker. Who has the better JS I wonder?
At this stage Cripps is still in the running for round 1 after playing some time in fridays intraclub. JK also played and the club is weighing up weather to play him on limited minutes in Brisbane or rest him and play him round 2.

From Adam Simpson's recent comments, it sounds like he really wants Petruccelle in the team for his speed, and it sounds like at this stage Oscar Allen will only play if JK misses.

I think Parker probably has he better JS.

Tigers coach Damien Hardwick clears up one ongoing talking point about former Gold Coast co-captain http://m.afl.com.au/news/2019-03-17/theres-no-doubt-about-that-dimma-on-lynch-in-the-ruck

Pre-season cult hero Noah Balta is unlikely to compete alongside Lynch and Jack Riewoldt up forward,

I think this pretty much rules out Balta unfortunately, especially if Lynch doesn’t play round one.
This is the author saying that, not Hardwick. I wouldn't be so confident Balta gets dropped.

Looking at the Richmond forward line, once Lynch returns, but whilst Caddy is still out:

Rioli, Riewoldt, Butler
Lambert, Lynch, Higgins

There is still one bench spot, so it's probably a question of Balta vs Castagna (injured first couple of weeks).

Castagna’s easily ahead of Balta so it remains that his JS is poor.

Yeah you are right, not a direct quote from Dimma but something said by Dimma may have prompted that comment.

Caddy seems to be listed as 3-7 weeks. If Balta can be named alongside Lynch in R1, you could be somewhat confident Balta might get at least 2-3 games until Caddy is ready

Do you think Petruccelle would be able to get 6-8 games in a row ?

Gut feeling is no. Simmo said he is happy to run 3 talls in JK, Darling and Allen, plus we have Waterman & Brander and wouldn't be surprised to see Jarrod Cameron given a game or two. All these kids are essentially fighting for the one spot. So while it looks pretty certain Petruccelle will start the season... a quite game or two will likely see him dropped. Needs to start the season in great form.

What’s the thoughts on Marsh recruitment for saints if he gets a gig very early as soon as round 1 could he play the intercepting role .

He has so much potential - need to get games in to him but looks like it'll be through injury or the woes of others.
