Could be @Blades avatar, maybe?
Good thinking Bermi...as long as I don’t have to pay any royalties to Connoisseur to use the ‘blade’!

Actually, I was seriously thinking about changing my avatar back to a blade given Sheffield United have defied short odds to not get relegated from the Premier League and are instead fighting it out (still long odds) with the big teams for a Champions League spot in Europe!

Even without Daniher and Hooker etc, you'd think that Essendon would be more likely to go with McKernan and Stringer and then a combination of mid talks like Laverde.

I suspect even if Jones plays you might struggle to get any growth out of him, as there's a fair chance that by week 2 or 3 Essendon would be playing 2 rucks, or Hooker or Stewart is available.
There was a bit of talk about Stringer playing more mid time, as he seems to be the only one that could extract the ball forward. Obviously will play forward, but would also get midfield minutes. New coach now, let's see what direction they take.

Is Hibbered a walk up starter if fit and if so, what's changed from his time at NM?

I understand he had a good VFL year but was there a role change or just the kick in the ass being delisted?
I am no expert on this but he played as an inside mid last year whereas kangas played him in defence I think
Spots has pretty much nailed it.

I also wonder if Heppell will play more HB early given he’ll be underdone. Plan may be to use Parish, Stringer, McGrath types in the centre but if Hibberd can play the role then he could crack the side too. Townsend potentially is in the frame for the same role as well.

Hibberd is no walk up starter though but if he shows good form he’ll get a crack

There was talk about Clarke's role and his skills by foot weren't great. How does he improve or help the midfield. Talk was maybe they release him from the tagging role and let him play. Is Hibberd a tagger too? including Townsend or more contested?

No I doubt Hibberd would be a tagger. We’ll have more answers on Townsend tomorrow.
