For anyone else who has Pickett as emergency on the bench (like me) and is debating the worth of including a DTP to get his respectable rookie score ..

... we all have 30 trades left with 16 rounds to play, including no price changes after this round. I don’t think it is a hard decision.
You have convinced me, it's not worth it. :geek:

Always two sides to a coin, Nank had only 27 from 46% TOG. Casboult 104 from 86% TOG but also had 2 goals. Kreuzer was injured very early so the stats are really hard to read much into.

Not much the wiser on the rucks but my general perception was that the game was really fast paced which meant less stoppages. IIRC there were some comments from Ratten that he expected games to be faster paced due to the shorter games, if that's the trend it could be the case that rucks suffer a little from having less HOs from stoppages.

Mids might suffer slightly as well due to less stoppages. Half back flankers would love it!

However, it is only the first game of round 1!
I would say 3 FA is probably like -18 pts now(6ea)

Nah he’s not, but even if he gets named I wouldn’t be super confident in his JS.
Must be a wonder kid if he can break into the best midfield in the AFL.

I am happy with Rowell , Green , Mahony / Pickett , Brown , McInerney

if Round 2 goes ahead we have 2 trades available if 1-2 of them get dropped , may as use them why we can.

Can always trade out premiums to generate $$$

Looking at the scores, seems like the "interceptors" did far better than I would've expected.
Baker - 10 IPs - 46 DT / 91 SC
SPS - 9 IPs - 59 DT / 113 SC
Doch - 9 IPs - 95 DT / 117 SC
Weitering - 8 IPs - 49 DT / 102 SC
Simpson - 7 IPs - 71 DT / 82 SC
Astbury - 7 IPs - 49 DT / 90 SC
Jones - 7 IPs - 37 DT / 64 SC

Massive DT / SC ratios there. Could be some surprise packets who end up doing well in the defence.
It's Sicily time.

Midfielders did okay. I thought Cripps looked very influential live but he only ended up on 112.

Forwards seem to struggle a bit more. May have just been the nature of this game in particular which seemed to be high scoring and fast paced. TJ, JRoo poor. J.Martin had a MASSIVE game but only had 107 in the end, thought he might've ended up on 130.
Might have something to do with Blues players refusing to lay a tackle and Cripps going 3/15 by foot.

It might tie up one trade you could use more usefully or a chance to save one of the 2 (I think?) we need to save but on the other hand yes it’s probably a small price to pay.

I personally would take a playing rookie and see how close you get.

If alternative got 60 is one trade worth 34 points?

And if you nett 34 pts, Yr rookie FD plays next week and the McInerney/Brown or whoever I didn’t select this week etc is dropped next week you would call that a win

Would advise everyone to not tear their teams up to get Picketts score on field. Cash gen is far more important than 40 odd points.

The mid rookies still look suspect to me and adding a donut could cause problems. Robertson, T.Brown, McInerney could all be out next week.
We'll get at least two games out of Tyler,
unless he really stinks it up (which I don't think he will) or gets injured.

Treloar is set to miss next week as well with gastro and Stephenson has done something to his hand which has changed the committee's mind about him playing at short notice apparently.

There is a sneaky $123,900 F/M on the Lions' extended bench who is worth considering should he make the final team. Keidean Coleman didn't play either Marsh game, so no exposed form. However, he made the NEAFL team of the year last year while playing a variety of roles, few of which were in his intended position; e.g., he played in the defence when he is an attcking player.

Yes for sure. But if brown gets 100 and you’ve got Hibberd and then trade him to Brown next week or there are other changes you want to jump on next week .. just not really worth it.
