That Gawn game really felt like a 180sc game. I honestly reckon being at the game of Brisbane and Carlton on the weekend that’s a better game than Cripps.

Not only a career high 34 possessions but a career high 19 contested, career high 10 clearances and also the highest hitout to advantage percentage of any ruck this year in a game.

Did this against the apparent best ruck in the league.

Absolutely crazy.

34 touches, 19 contested, 20 kicks, 9 score involvements, 10 clearances, 5 marks (3 contested), 5 inside 50’s, 3 rebound 50’s, 33 hitouts (15 hitouts to advantage).
Hard to argue when you put it like this.

Can't agree with that at all, Cripps almost single handedly carried his side from what looked like being another drubbing to a win, he was a one man wrecking ball, Gawn's side were comfortably beaten.

1958 before scaling. Jelly C

I agree with those that said Maxy deserved more.
34 disposals - 19 contested - on top of 15-16 H2A's.

A 180 wouldn't have been out of the question.
I reckon it was a much better game than his 168 in Rnd 6 last season, or 4 of his 5 160+'s in 2016.
I still think his 172 in Rnd 3 2016 was his best.

I think the other factors just way towards Gawn more. He helped Melbourne to a 43-29 clearance advantage, 58-56 inside 50 advantage, did it against the best ruck in the league, the 2nd best team in the comp and was the only reason it wasn’t a 100 point loss. He can’t help his team mates being absolutely ordinary as Cripps benefited from arguably the worst team in the comp in Victoria who didn’t even have a player running with Cripps at any point in the game. Cripps was exceptional as was Walsh, Kruz, Curnow and Weitering in the 2nd half.
Curnow keeping Neale to 3 touches in the last 1.75 quarters was incredibly important.

Don’t get me wrong Cripps was unbelievable and it was a great game to be at but the game today with those factors involved push this to the best game of any player all season in my opinion.

Tim Watson said Melbourne is the worse skilled side he has this year , I don't think Collingwood is that far ahead of them , pressure is one thing , but unless we clean up our disposal I can't see is threatening too much in September.
