Big O’s bye still isn’t great. It’s the all important first week of finals (provided you make it). Would probably rather keep Rankine for that round than take Big O! Potentially a sideswap option in R15 though but again will be pricey by then.... has Grundy in R15 too.
Yeah righto, so really a slingshot. Parish, Wingard and Dawson are all ones I looked at preseason. Dawson finished last year well, repeat perhaps? Probably Parish for me if you don't spend up on Toby or hail Mary on Jezza.

Yeah good one, forgot about Parish. I think he’d be the best option!

Just checked out my byes as it’s the first look I’ve had at it.

R14 just missing Neale no big deal so is everyone else.

R15 Stewart, Simpkin, Houston, bont, Smith (2 rookies) well that could be far worse prob 3 of my worst 5 keepers missing should be able to field 18 without to many problems will trade though this week.

R16 Grundy and dusty most will have these two or at least one

Looks like byes will be kind until we get 4-5 players managed 😂😂😂

My year has been shot for some time so I've decided to have a crack at the rnd 15 weekly. Below is a bit of a plan. I'm wondering what people think and any recommendations you all might have. "Give up" has already been contemplated, thankyou. :)
The 1st price after each name is current and the following prices are projected from BriceMitchell, Footywire or my own guesstimate. Bont and BSmith with perfect timing and Yeo with terrible timing. $Diff is how much the trade might cost me. I can bring in 6 players without a downgrade and possibly 7. I'll have to keep an eye on Gawn and Lloyd with ice on his foot. Current team is on the right. Particularly keen on suggestions for trades 7 and 8 and maybe a cheaper player who could have a nice spike score in rnd 15 and C/VC loophole. I'll have to go early on 5 players so thinking the most reliable ones come in first. i.e. Neale, Oliver. Not Whitfield, Blakely or Kelly.

Will be interesting if Gawn is back, as he is one who could go big.

Think you need Lloyd, Neale, Oliver, then in forwards I'd be open to a gamble on some well matched value KPPs. Having said that, it doesn't differentiate you much... so perhaps you are better set looking at the Parker, Jelly, even Sloanes types etc.

I probably should look at some slingshot moves to generate some cash to finish the team. Only 6 trades left for R14 onwards though so can't do much.

The ones that stand out are Neale and Macrae especially: Trading down Macrae could net 150k and the trade in player gets 4 games instead of 3 to match the points. That's 100 average vs. 133 to net the same output - seems almost a no brainer right?

I might be misreading your spreadsheet, but if I was trying to win the weekly in round 15, I would prefer not to have players like Oliver and especially Neale. I think you're better off betting against him, either hoping he has a down score, or that you can pick someone much cheaper who can match him, and then make the points back and more by investing that cash elsewhere.

I agree with @jaca re KPPs ... I'd be grabbing som KPFs with good matchups or POD mids or defs playing weak opposition. Fanfooty has all the info on averages by player against each opponent and at each venue.

If you wanted to be super smart about it you could even consider the weather for your final selections, and maybe work backwards from there on who you are most confident bringing in in earlier rounds.

Thanks Darkie.
The whole exercise is very random! But it's giving me a bit more focus.
I agree on PODs and trying to get the best value out of my money but the question for me is who do I bet against?
Increasing my PODs also decreases my chances because I'm relying on a lot of unreliable players, the reason they are PODs.
The fact that I'm willing to gut my team of all rnd 15 bye players on short notice and load up with the best of the rest while most others still have an eye on completing their best 22 gives me a big POD.
I was thinking a core of the best players with a sprinkling of value and POD's would give me that balance of guaranteeing a good round and with a bit of luck making it a great round. Where as going completely POD would be more like buying a lotto ticket.

Mmm ... anyone got the "weather" forecasts for this round .... already considered the travel aspects but not the weather ...
