I'd say all the players will get a 0 (or DNP).

Completely different circumstances but I play Big Bash fantasy over the summer and if a game is abandoned due to weather then all players get 0, or whatever they are on at the time the game is called off.

Guess we will know in due course, definitely isn't the most important thing at the moment.
I tend to agree and yes of course it's not the most important of things at the moment but no harm in discussing i don't think.

I'm fully expecting zeros if they don't play which sucks considering my team is stacked with crows/cats players. I do wonder if other games will get called off though, in particular tonight's game.

I'd be shocked if they played, too. Feels bad discussing Supercoach, but if I was CD I'd give all named players their average score.
Almost guarantee zeros for those that don't play.

Hey guys just a question, on the AFL website, Lambert is named onfield, but on the Richmond page, he is named on the bench, which lineup do you think is right? Need him to play onfield because of Buddy and Bennell out :(
Probably the AFL site strangely enough. I'm thinking teams are submitting to them which is probably the 'official' team they've named.

Either way, I wouldnt take too much notice of how the teams are named; the final teams and subs are far more important.

Reports coming out of Adelaide players have been told they will NOT play this weekend

Tom's a journo and writer for Fox Sports i believe.
I'm going to stop prefacing every post with how tragic this is. It's a Supercoach forum after all I'm not trying to be insensitive I'm just debating the implications to our game!

If that's the case, I really hope the players get zeros and not some manufactured score. Plenty of other strange circumstances have caused us to get donuts this year, I'm sure everyone will be touched to a degree. Would be a cat among the pigeons trying to cover them all.

No scenario is perfect, but it seems unfair to just give people points and stats when it has flow on effects to their prices, league games etc. Just two examples - Joel Selwood, down on form and plenty have dumped him out of frustration is projected to get 97. Does it seem right to just give him 97 points? He's only scored 97+ TWICE in the past 9 weeks, and 90 or less 7 of those games. Similarly, Brodie Smith coming back from injury is projected 55. Seems rough to just slap him with a crap score which will in turn impact his price when in reality he should score a fair margin better.

IMO the fairest thing to do is just to rule them out as if they didn't play and let us try to cover them. I have 3 crows including Dangers 133 projection fwiw so I will be touched by this too.

Dont play its zeroes I reckon Im gonna cop it as well, Selwood, Taylor, Smith, Lever as cover.

No ther way around it, without reading the SC site, I believe its there score on the park that counts, so
to apply averages would create as many problems as it may solve.

If Im playing anyone in league(money league) I will try and match you for donuts, just email me and
let me know.

Team name - blue storm.

In between round 17 and 18 they both play similar times on a sat. So a midweek catchup in between then is the answer.

They play each other in round 23 so they should play midweek between 22 and 23 and then play round 23 on a monday then it is fair for both sides and a reasonable break before finals if necessary.

Rolling out the "best 18" as per the bye rounds might be a fair solution and probably something technologically that would be possible in a short space of time.
My guy says that it's confirmed zeros if the game is cancelled. No special scoring system.

I know in a time like this we shouldn't be discussing Supercoach but...
Comments in this thread saying they should all get zeroes as they didn't play in my opinion isn't the right solution. If the game is cancelled giving zeroes to all players on the basis that it is 'fair' just doesn't make sense. Instead, as we know games add to 3300 points. Lets say the total average of the 22 Adelaide players is 1750 while the average of Geelong players is 1700. This adds to 3450. To accommodate for the extra 150 point difference they could simply deduct 3 - 4 points off every player's yearly average so someone such as Dangerfield would go from 116 to 112 while Selwood's would go from 95 to 91. This seems a far more logical and fairer approach. The only possible flaw would be the extended squads off 25 so we wouldn't know who would actually end up playing.

In saying this, a tragic event has occurred and I wish all the best for Walsh's family and that justice is given appropriately

There you go. I know atm footy seems insignificant but th3se 4 points can have a snowball effect with aoeting out wither finals or draft picks. IMO it needs to eventually be played

Would be really unfair on Syd as they will also feel they cant make a song and dance over it either and would be pressured to just cop it.

Can of worms is open if the game is postponed and players cop a 0 yet play two games in one week later on.

Feel bad saying this but for some people there is $50,000 on the line which could be life changing. They should probably allow SC leagues to go ahead but not count this week to count as overall if it's going to get too complicated. Or as others have suggested treat it as a bye round. I dont think you can just chuck a 0 in and thats that.
It's Friday afternoon, you aren't going to get the SC system re-engineered by Sunday to function differently anyway. I think it's less about what's fair and more about what's possible. I also don't see how you can have two games in a week. I think the most feasible outcome (and the outcome which has been suggested by a person in the know) is that if the game is cancelled, they get DNP zeros.

The people who have an inside source at the Bombers - do we know if S Edwards will make the final team tonight, or will he be an emergency?

If the game is cancelled, 0 awarded to players is the only answer, would mean 4 donuts for me but it's the only fair course of action.

You can have 2 games in a week easily by scheduling 2 games in a week lol.

Say the game is not cancelled but postponed and played at a later date midweek. What happens to those 3300 points, players averages, pricing etc?

Round will go ahead. Two premiership points for Crows & Cats, that game will be cancelled. AFL to confirm soon
