You don't think Jelly can turn it around?
He definitely can but as someone who held Neale (wanted Jordan and Ridley more) I need to cushion some of that cash loss.

It's more a personal team thing tho

Short is still cheap for what it looks like he'll be. His floor is so high with the new rules and I want to maximise best rooks onfield.

It's 100% luxury trade but as a tigers fan there's a factor for how I'll enjoy the year watching him play.....might just trade Neale tbh

Think I’m cooked
No impey
No tex
No Ridley
Gotta jump on the hot streaks at the start of the year and without nuking my side it looks like I’m gonna have to play the long game and miss them.

Team
Laird short Stewart Docherty Clark Kossie
Highmore Fyfe

Macrae titch Bont zerrett taranto gulden jordon Powell
Berry brockman Lazarro

Gawn Grundy Flynn

Dunkley dusty ziebell Warner Campbell scott
Rowe Bergman

Trade right now is Kossie to Chappy
Any ideas?
I assume you don’t have enough cash to go Docherty > Ridley after the Kosi > Chapman trade?
Ridley looks a top 3 defender, not sure Docherty will finish in the top 8 defenders.

Hayden Young > Chapman is locked in.

Seriously contemplating Jelly > Ridley via Sharp.

Feels sideways but with Kosi/ Highmore/ Sharp at D6 to D8 I am very vulnerable. Getting Ridley moves Clark to D5 & Chapman D6. Hopefully Highmore returns this week after the saints poor game on the weekend.

Thoughts?

Ridley looking like he’ll be Top 3 defender. Will see a lot of it this year for us. Prob won’t be less than 600k any other time this year...

I’m trying to get him in mine, but looking like Cripps will have to go... 🤔

Assuming all three are named (Rowe, Jones, Brockman)
If you had to cull one for Impey which would it be? (and if you have a why that would just be a bonus!)

Got 28 trades atm and only 13 keepers in the team (including Ziebell as a keeper at this stage!)
Knowing my FOMO I'll probably consider one of the following depending on serious H.Young's injury is

1. H.Young --> Chapman (not sure about his JS/role)
2. H.Young --> Impey via two DPPs (too late to bring him in? role?)
3. NO TRADES (Ideal option!!!!)

No dice on the funds
Could do Campbell and Stewart for Ridley and Chapman at best.
Plan was to trade Taranto to Ridley over the weekend but with cogs injury and a tidy 114 it’s probably not worth it

Can cull Campbell and Powell to get impey and Chapman as another option? don’t like my bench at all with this option though. Absolutely gutted I didn’t get giro this week it was he or Lazarro and went with the js

Young to Imp as long as It doesn't leave you exposed at D6 seems like a solid option to me.

Firstly, I don’t think any are viable on field options so that plays a part.

Jones is the best hold of the 3 for mine. Scoring may not always be high but my god the kid works hard. Leads up and presents.. has a red hot crack. Given Hooker is playing forward it shows just how bare the cupboard is for the bombers so I think JS is high. May get a rest in a few weeks but otherwise I think he looks good.

Rowe vs Brockman is tough. Outside of the first round Rowe’s scoring has looked poor. But 2x 20 point scores in 3 games for Brockman is just as dire. Given I can’t split them I would probably keep Brockman given his DPP and the fact hawthorn have 3 Sunday games coming up meaning he has solid loophole currency.

Is 406k mean the Tex train has left the station? Or is “fallen premo” territory if he can keep scoring like this? (New rules)

Well all 3 will probably be culled for SC at some point in the first half of the year, so its a matter of which is the worse cash cow.

If dumping this round the I'd cull Rowe, his massive rd 1 score will no longer be in his price cycle; so if all 3 get low SC scores this week the other two will moo a tad bit more.

But then I realised Rowe plays North, so a decent chance to get a goal or two or three and some scoring assists. So maybe dump Brockman instead.

I'm no expert on Rowe and Brockmans JS but Jones I reckon won't get dropped unless he needs to be rested with soreness at some point.

Have the cash to go:
Dow > Walker
Kozi > Jiath

Prob improves my team by at least 100 points but feels super ballsy in a points chasing adventure. Will see if Highmore gets named and makes me rethink.

Probably should have grabbed Impey last week, kind of a tough pill to swallow, however if I bypass him for Chapman, it mucks my structure around for the worse.
Can squeeze in De Goey and Clark > Mills and Impey. Sydney have a crazy good run on coming up. Don’t really see a lot between Lloyd and Mills considering Dawson and Campbell have eaten into his points this year, and Mills is playing pure mid.
Hopefully next week can tighten up the trades as I went blind on Waterman last week, and would have culled all of my **** midpricers when Clark exits.

This depends on his coach and unfortunately his coach has a horrible track record of being smart.

Logic would say that no MDB or Coniglio would push Kelly into the guts but the reaction on the weekend was to push him to a forward pocket...

Really the only explanation for playing a pure midfielder with almost no forward skills as a forward is injury, the glimmer being that the coach is so incompetent provides another option there but neither of those are good reasons to keep him...

Can get Chapman and either Ridley or Jiath. Just go straight to Ridley?
I don't see Jiath as a premium, Ridley isn't going to be cheaper than he is now for a month at best. Basically you'd need to think Jiath can make you another 150k at a minimum, definitely possible, or that he's going to be a keeper from this point.

If these are your first trades then the gamble is possibly a lot more worth taking.

I'm actually genuinely surprised how many people started without Ridley but I wont complain, it's giving all my mistakes some coverage!

Early idea
Chappy looks the goods
But can get impey in with a bit of thinking

Campbell Kossie
To
Parks impey

Dochers Stewart short laird Clark highmore
Parks Fyfe

Macrae Bont titch Merrett Taranto gulden Powell jordon
Berry brockman Lazarro

Gawn Grundy
Flynn

Dunkley dusty impey ziebell Warner a scott
Rowe Bergman

Chappy would look better at d6 but impey in is a big upgrade on Campbell and if highmore returns I’m looking better yeah?

Another thing there is that Kelly has a very high floor (>90 typically) and gets to the overall average by punctuating those scores with some real outburst games in routs.
Hard to see many of those games eventuating for GWS as it stands.
Role obviously also not ideal etc.
Holding him but with little confidence on the hope that the Coniglio / DeBoer injuries and their dire straits sees him back in a better role.
But it's probably more wishful thinking than rational optimism.
