Gawn seems amazing. Might even push Goldy for R1 if he keeps this up. But I can't justify a trade of a decently performing ruckman just to get him in; I chose Goldy and Martin; and Martin has been fine up until the last two weeks, but we can forgive him; seeing as he got Koed and was probably not at his best yesterday. All power to those who picked Gawn, but doing these sideways trades is asking for trouble, IMO.

I dont think anyone can defend rances extremely highly inflated score.
I'll defend it. 11 disposals with 7 contested @ 70% DE, 3 marks with 2 contested, 3 R50, 1 free kick FOR, 0 free kicks AGAINST, 2 tackles, 5 1%ers, 1 goal assist and 3-5 spoils. If the free kicks against actually go onto his stat sheet, then he should lose 10-15 points.

As i said in a previous post, Rance seems to get "over scored" because he gets a good amount of his score from "unseen" places like spoils and 1%ers. He also has 2 contested marks from opposition kicks which score well.

What if some of us happen to own Jacobs? It's been observed on here that he's playing ok but not getting the SC points, Gawn looking mighty tempting as sideways as that is!

I can empathize with those who don't have Gawn atm, it's how I feel every time I see Goldstein going ham. Closeish game as well so hopefully he keeps going!

I'm very tempted to do that trade, going to cost us about 100k though. Have Fyfe to deal with as well..... going to need to make some tough decisions this week.

Jacobs is a borderline issue; I don't have him, so I haven't been paying attention to his scores, but isn't he pretty much guaranteed the #1 ruck spot at Adelaide. He's probably right on the border of what I would consider a decent trade. If you want to replace a Nicholls, Lobbe, Zac Smith type; sure, go for Gawn.

I would not trade any one of Goldstein, Nic Nat, Martin for Gawn; Jacobs is borderline, but I'd back him to have his day in the sun later on.

Of course, I had Goldstein last year from the start, so I didn't have to watch a ruckman dominate while I didn't have him.

I dont think you've taken into account the fact that 3 of Rance's kicks went straight on the full. It's worse to have a clanger kick by itself than the combination of an effective kick+free kick against. Talking about "unseen" stats, there are two sides to it. On one hand, we do not have access to his spoil numbers, but on the other many CLEAR clangers are also not registered, and those that were actually positively contribtued to his score. If you're so keen in defending him, would you like to explain why he got +4 to 5 from 3 clanger kicks when Houli got -3 from 1 clanger kick?

Hate to say it but I don't think Menadue is up to AFL standards.

Looked completely lost on the ground and when he does have the ball, does nothing with it. Need to go back to the 2's to regain some bad needed touch and confidence.

I'll be surprised to see his name in the teams next week.

He's had 5 scores so far all between 64 and 95 including 75 this week. Hardly premo scoring and i'm losing faith unfortunately, just doesn't look promising!

Rance now has one Free against and lost 4 points from half time. Gawn also lost a couple of points. And the points don't go close to 1600 combined.
