@Creeker and @THCLT, lol, no secrets in deed.

At this stage, I'm more concerned with O/A ranking and setting team up for long term.

Having knocked off the reigning PL premier last week I'm flying anyway ?.

Goodluck with Rocky Creeker, my experience is that Rocky doesn't cope too well with the weight of half the SC community very well...

Would it be possible @THCLT to receive your thoughts on an avenue to get ROB.

Remaining salary: 8100

Still unsure on whether to use Z Butters, W Setterfield or M Gibbons to get ROB and the potential of Constable being rested has thrown a spanner in the works of the Z Butters trade due to potentially having to field 2 of T Atkins, B Scott and M Gibbons but I prefer the Butters move due to the flexibility for future trades allowing the likes of J Hately and T Kelly to come in around RD7.
I feel that with the information at hand regarding possible resting for Constable and the fact that you're favouring Butters as the one to go with a view to future trade targets, then a manoeuver to put Duursma on-field for this round would be my preferred option. With that says, I would go Butters to ROB via Duursma to MID, Burgess to DEF & Bines to FWD. You can then put the E on Scott for the early game, and decide whether you want to risk Atkins/Gibbons later in the round, with Constable still an on-field option if reports were misinterpreted.

Yes this leaves you with no FWD bench cover in Setterfield/Bines for the next couple of rounds, but that FWD cover if and when required is probably at the low end of the scale in terms of overall impact to your team. This move also re-open the D/F link for your team.

Hope that helps...

Trades done.
Parker->Hore
Balta-> O’Brien

370k... Moving Rozee forward in the process essentially replacing F8 with Wilkie/Duursma type over Parker.

Feel good about my money making with Walsh/Const/Collins/Rozee/Duursma/Scrimshaw/Wilkee/Clarke/Drew/Hore and slow burns Butters/Scott/Gibbons/Atkins....but my team sucks in the short term.

Setterfield for me ,2 weeks out,at least the others have a chance to make some cash. Don’t think he’s capable of decent scores anyway. Now that I’ve said that he’ll ton up first game back.

Those with LDU, trading or keeping (no Butters)?
With my 4 0 7 mid set up, I am getting nervy with the likes of Constable likely missing, I can trade him to Rocky, then Setters to ROB.
Was planning on LDU to Daniel and Setters to ROB to strengthen forward line, but not so sure now.
Or double down with stack and ROB and see what happens.

Burgess to Hore worth it? Would leave Moore locked up forward. Worried about Hore's JS.

Anyone brave enough to trade Gawn to O’Brien?
No,but I don’t have Gawn ! Can understand the cash grab,but you’ll have to use another trade to upgrade ROB eventually. Can you trade R3 for him and just let him mature on the bench?

My early 'aggressive' (and probably mad) plan was to go Gawn to ROB and Parker to Lloyd. However, I was timely reminded of the number of trades I had to used on my Rucks last season so that notion was quickly abolished.

Have undertaken a more traditional, 'safe', route instead. Parker to Hore as I needed to swing Moore to F5 last night which leaves Butters now as the likely candidate to be sacrificed for ROB. This leaves Balta as my only 'emergency' cover in the FWD line for the short term, until hopefully a Corbett type comes on the scene sooner rather than later.

I'm still of a belief that ROB best position is probably at R2, but with my Gawndy setup, it was just a stretch too far to make that possible. Hopefully the expected cash injection will be sufficient.
I think that's the smarter thing to do. Cash generation looks slow this year so might be worth factoring in additional trades so moving Gawn on early wouldn't be the best idea IMO

Was considering that myself,bank about $55,000 and the increase in Hore’s price,but JS is a major worry, don’t know if it’s worth it. Also considering Butters to Stack ,not confident on that either. Think Butters might struggle tonight against tough opposition and will surely be rested soon. Glad I could help ???

It really depends on what you are aiming for: if you are going for overall and are a long way behind I think its a very reasonable option. Also depends how risk-averse you are.

If you are going for a league win or two I think its just far better to keep Gawn and find some other way to get ROB in.

Thanks for the advice and I always appreciate your input/suggestions. The move you've mentioned was 1 of several I was strongly considering due to the aforementioned positives and has helped to assure me in orchestrating this move. Good luck for the remainder of the season.

Still tossing up these 2 options:

Option 1:

Butters -> Stack
Darling-> Lloyd

Option 2:

Butters-> O'Brien
Darling -> Boak

Thoughts??

Leaning towards keeping Butters and skipping Stack. Might look silly but I’ve been ok with Butters first 3 weeks, Scott probably becomes Ross next week...
