So many options this week. How are some considering not trading!?

I have Fyfe, Howe & Naismith (bench). Ranked inside the top 300, so feel I must sideways a few of them to maintain my position.

I don't have any of Hill, Serong, Green, Williamson, Young or Xerri (need R/F rookie for Naismith) though who looked decent.

Initial thoughts is Howe > Lloyd, keeping Fyfe & Naismith this week and maybe bringing in one of Green/Serong to cover Fyfe.

Fyfe > Whitfield an option next week perhaps
Fyfe, Howe and Naimsith for me too and also ranked top 300.

I'm definitely trading Howe, most likely to Ridley.

Then it's likely to either be Fyfe to Bont/Green or Naismith to Xerri.

Considered last week, but then I happily went Ryan to Ridley and Sturt to Butler.
Not trading Whitfield now, would be losing another 50k.
I guess it depends on whether you think you'll be bringing Whitfield back in again at any point. I still think he's a top 6 forward from here.

If you think you will want him in your finished team, then there's no point moving him on because you "would be losing another $50k". You don't realise a loss unless you sell. Right now, you have "lost" $0 on him because you haven't cashed him in for a loss. And even if you do sell, and can bring him in for $50-100k cheaper, you've used an extra trade to do it.

But again, depends on your circumstance. There are a lot of good forward options this year so you might never want to bring him back in.

Whitfield will bottom out next week so I would avoid the trade personally.
Yes it is at the cost of potentially 50K, but you're chasing losses at this point. I would also back Whitfield to equal or even outscore Wingard from here on in.

I am thinking Lloyd in for Howe just as I want a nice assured top 3 def and Lloyd, Sicily, Docherty makes me breathe easier.....on the flip side I am thinking of trading in a more Poddish option in the mids.......

The other trade I am considering Fyfe to HIll/Serong and use the cash next week to send a non playing mid rook up to Mitchell. I am concerned again with missing too many cash cows due to injuries.

Other players I am interested in are Yeo (more cash to drop but I like the idea of jumping on) and Treloar just for the pod LOLs - any comments from pies or eagles fans on these guys and their potential frorm?

I have the same premo Defenders, and like Lloyd for the same reason, however by bringing in Ridley I can move Taylor or Bewley to Whitfield (F5) next week. Given Bewley has been scoring acceptably I think getting Taylor off the field is critical.

This balancing of points v earning potential is doing my head in this year.

I'm neither, but I expect there to be more holding the ball frees paid this week after Alistair Clarkson's comments yesterday (Hawks had 69 tackles for 0 holding the ball frees). Yeo is one of the leaders for most tackles this season, currently =3rd in the comp and had the 3rd most tackles per game last season. May help him a bit?

The more I think about it, the more I go back to my initial thoughts and just trade Fyfe and Naismith to Serong and Grundy. Keep it simple.

The obvious thing for me to do would be to trade Fyfe and Conigilio or Ryan. But I'm not sure this does much to help my team given the end goal still has to be cash generation. At what point are we just making reactive trades every week and not making any progress? I've made 8 trades and I'd say half of them have gained me absolutely nothing.

Why ?

Could be a season long keeper for $ 410 k , currently 6th on the averages.

Form drops off he could be a relatively easy sideways to say Hurn or someone
I prefer to get a safe top 6 defender for just ~100k more.

I already traded Houston to Howe after Round 1 though, so my personal circumstances have me reluctant to trade to a player I may need to trade out again.

Fyfe's high price makes me want to trade him out and even if he comes back whose to say he plays all the remaining games anyway?

Thoughts on Fyfe to Neale for those of us without him?

I feel so bad stumping up 767k, as good as he's been.

Too much coin. Find someone in the mid 500s to low 600s instead. Use this an opportunity to make some cash out of the trade.
I've been burnt too many times paying top dollar for someone. Titch is probably my favourite 'value' option, but he of course has a date with Matt DeBoer this weekend.
