Nice side Zimmer, just a quickie, why not entertain Treacy? avoids donut, releases 100k from Meek

Fullarton > Bergman this week, Kosi/Highmore > L. Jones next week, along with highest BE rookie > Macrae.

Or is that too many trades?
All good points and advice. Feel like I'm trading in another eventual donut with Treacy, but I guess if he becomes a donut, you'd want it to float . Thanks OTB.

Probably the easiest option is to wait on teams and go Meek > Treacy and hope Kozi plays. Then Fullarton > Bergman/Waterman. If Kozi doesn't play can bring in Jones a week early.

Once Flynn is back, it's probably a waste having Hickey, and Flynn on the bench, even though cover would be nice. Still thinking....

Thanks again. @OnTopBar

Just thought of another scenario but it involves being super aggressive with my trades.

Could go Brockman --> Waterman (via A.Scott)
And Kosch --> L.Jones (would need to go a week early on him)

Then next week I can downgrade J.Jordon to a rookie (maybe Treacy?) and will have enough cash to upgrade Campbell to Dusty (will have dropped a bit in price).

Doing all this would leave me with 23 trades and 8 upgrades left to do.

Don't think it's a good idea to spend 4 trades for essentially 1 upgrade though...

I'm only newish at this game and I'm sure someone will point out a flaw in my logic.

I think it's important to not only consider the trades as downgrades but also as an opportunity to get rookies in that help kickstart cash gen. So while I'm trading out rookies, my 1st consideration is whether they're deadwood, 2nd is where their BE is and 3rd, how is their JS?

So, for me, yes I'm spending trades but I'm also getting in those rookies on the bubble that give me that cash kickstart to afford the upgrades that have to be done. I'm also factoring in the likelihood of only using 1 trade on some of those future upgrades, for instance, Daniel could be around 400k in 3 weeks and Chapman around 350k, 50k for a D6 upgrade. Likewise Brayshaw for M7-8.

My trades so far have been centred around this premise, with Warner, Jordan, Chapman and Treacy in, and Jones, Sharp, Clark and Meek out. Fullarton will likely also be out for Bergman this week, Kosi/Highmore for L.Jones next week, then highest BE rookie to Macrae the week after. That's 7 trades without an upgrade but about 5-600k ITB (of which some might be used for a ruck upgrade)

Already have treacy, bringing in waterman.

We have macrae and Jones as looming bubble boys. In the short term who is likely to come up soon? Think knowing that can help in pulling the trigger on Heppel or not. Are there going to be players to downgrade to or do we some some other ways in getting some more cash and points in the mean time?

Finalized trades:
(1) Meek > Hickey
(2) Heeney > Waterman

Reason for Hickey over Sweet/Tracey:
  • War chests are nice for the upgrade season. We're not there yet, having too much $ in the bank (close to 600k had I brought in Meek instead) is too counterproductive points wise
  • No guarantee that Flynn will be back next week. Meek is looking highly unlikely as well.
  • Sweet can't be considered with virtually non-existent JS, Tracey should be monitored for another week, especially since his 1st game wasn't too flashy either
  • Easy matchups for Hickey in next 2 rounds (GWS, GC)
  • Hickey will probably mature in pricing around the same time as Flynn, which coincides with when Marshall is ready. Hickey (~500k)+ Flynn (~460k) for Grundy (~ 620k)+ Marshall (~500k) will hopefully cost less than 200k. And that will be the entire ruck line + insurance sorted

I thought McCreery looked ok last night, likely not a big scorer though but on the bubble next week. Keane I would think would stay in with Howe out, only IMO.

Gone off the cash grab Stringer trade. So it's back to,

Daniel to Ridley, Campbell to Waterman.
or
Daniel to Jiath, Campbell to Heppell.

The second option saves me from playing Jordon on the field which is appealing.

Waterman has the best job security of the three, reliant on goals and easier games.
Bergman has the better scoring role (not reliant on goals), has the job till either defenders, duursma or butters return maybe.
Treacy has the least of all, young tall forward, currently bottom 8 side. Is he competing with Meek who plays ruck allowing Darcy to be forward or do they prefer Treacy allowing Darcy to play No.1 ruck?

Would Chapman still be worth it @ $207k? Or go a week early on Jones @ $140k?
In the same boat and am inclined to think that Chapman is still a not bad pick even at the inflated price. If he averages low 70s from here he will still make $150k. Missed out last week only because I had virtually nothing in the bank to go Kosi to him. I guess it also depends on whether he is on field or not for you and who you replace him with? Who would you be trading him out for? I was very certain earlier in the week on going Jordon straight to him and getting Clark into the midfield, removing a mid rookie from field but am not so sure anymore, Jordon has a decent ceiling when he gets tog and I think it has been confirmed that he will play this week.

I haven't considered going early on Jones but depending on outcomes of the games this round, will probably get him in for Clark next week.

Downgrading Daniel, so as to free up some cash to turn Meek into Hickey. Means I can stick Kosi on the bench (don't even know if he'll be named this week), and covers potential donuts on both DEF and RUC lines (currently running Flynn @ R2).

If it helps cover for a donut in the ruck then yeh I would probably do it.

Damn these late games. Giving me too much time to "change my mind second time", an old Blues man once said, and a number of other times.

1. Before the Dogs game, and tomorrows teams:

OR: wait, hold Caleb, and if Kozi Plays (Otherwise Kozi to Jones...)

Just discussed doing Option 1 myself. I'm sure Kozi will likely play, but I'll probably chicken out and not risk it. Option 1 for me.
