Not sure how I will get Ross with limited DPP links and with popular rookies Drew, Constable, Scott, Atkins, Gibbons, Stack all with cash still to make.
If I pass on Ross then there is a Similar problem next week with Hately.

With Duursma in my backs and all Fwd/Mids in the forward line then not sure how I’ll be able to access Hately unless it’s a straight swap for a mid rookie or takes 2 trades.

I’d happily pass on Ross with Hayes and Hately possible next week.
They don’t have great JS necessarily but Ross’ is even worse with Cotchin back next week and he being the exact like for like.
Cotchin remains ‘several weeks away’, who knows how long but 100% not back in rd7.

You’d think needing to ‘reduce his workload’ will rule him out Rd 8 too....maybe

Am I crazy to consider bringing in Buddy? $435K and has the following opponents coming up;

GWS (potentially without Davis)
Brisbane ( potentially without Andrews)
Essendon
North

Highest score so far is only 80 but I think he could go big in the next 4 so this could be rock bottom price.

You would be surprised....
Charlie Constable and Petrucelle around similar point of draft.
Same with Tom Stewart a year or so before.
Luke Ryan.. it goes on and on......
I was talking about players in their first year, there’s heaps of guns late in drafts but early bloomers tend to be fairly high picks and pre-made. Couldn’t find a single guy in 10 years who has averaged 90+ in their second season below pick 40 in regards to Worpel.

Edit: I’m not saying that he can’t be an alright pick but just where he went in the draft doesn’t fill me with confidence as it suggests he’s not pre-made and needs work. Could prove me wrong but that’s my take.

There was a conversation about that earlier - not sure if in this thread or another, so I guess if you're crazy or inspired, you've got friends.

What does the rest of your forward line look like?

Oh sorry I must have missed that (will do a search).

Current forward line is

Danger, Heeney, Kelly, Lobb, Moore, Drew (Parker, Bines)

Current trades I’m looking at are

Parker to Buddy
Clark to Baker (swinging Moore to defence)

Generally to generate cash you have to part with a cash generator at some point, hard as it can be.
He does now pretty much come close to meeting all the 3 optimum requirements to move on, but of course that doesn't mean you have to trade him this week, nor does it mean that there's not a few more bucks left to squeeze out of this fine young rookie, but Sisyphus says...
What are your three requirements, if you don’t mind sharing?

I did just see that! Gets more interesting now.

In saying that I’m not doubling down this week as I have Darling to upgrade and Baker appeals more than Ross as forward rookies look a lot harder to capture than mid rookies so far (Hately and Hayes already on the horizon, but no forward rookies in sight).

Tend to agree with GFB. Think I would need to see more from him to suggest he is going to increase his output

He did kick 4 last week, so he seems to be moving towards a big one. Sydney are not the team they have been though. Needs better delivery, and a few more possessions. Could go either way. If you're a risk taker, go for it. I think @jaca was considering it as well.

Was pretty sold on going Clark > Lockhart, Paker > Baker and getting the bank up to 266k.

Buuuuut, I can also go Clark > Lockhart and Butters > Rocky with 17k left over... Is Rocky the real deal again? However it does force me to play one of Balta/Parker but get 2 bites at it via loophole.

Thank you for the input everyone. I’m a bit of a risk taker but I will sleep on it nonetheless.

I think the Swans are a lot better side that what they’ve shown so far so that’s probably a factor in me considering this.

I’m the crazy who first mentioned it earlier. Pros and cons of listening to me:

Pros
- I’m a first year player, you might ride my ‘beginner’s luck’ coat-tails by following this decision.

Cons
- I’m a first year player.
