Really want both Heeney and Simmo but that round 11 bye is already causing me headaches so I definitely can't get both.

Simmo the under-priced premium so I'll probably go him but Heeney at this price and with his role is super tempting.

Thoughts on Rance? I like his bye as much as anything else.

I've had him from the start, and he's been frustrating - and I chose him over Adams for his bye, so that was a bust.

At the same time I think now that Richmond face some tougher opponents - ie. yesterday - his scoring will be higher, so from that perspective its probably not a bad time to bring him in. There'll be a lot more ball down there, and he looked good yesterday playing something closer to his old role.

Only JPK (25) attended more centre bounces than Heeney (21) on the weekend for the Swans. #SuperCoach #AFLFantasy
Wow this reads very nicely. I went early on Heeney blindly on a hunch that the swans will pull up stumps and look ahead to the future. Using the term pull up stumps very very loosely there i might add but it was a long way back from 0-5 i thought which is now 0-6!

Bahaha if only he was a R/F!

I'm a little unsure what i'll be doing this week, Nank's pending suspension will probably dictate what i do most likely. Is anyone considering moving him on if he goes for 2?

lol IDIG

not sure how long Spencer is out for, but if Pederson tons up again, at $ 367,600.00 with cash tight he might look enticing as a forward in Round 8.

may also help Tom McDonald and Jack Watts scoring potential.

Well done on going early on Heeney, he will be in my side this week.

If you have coverage I would hold. I have Nanks and Greene and if both get done I will have to play a donut this week in my forward line (also have Eddy). I going Hampton/Parfitt to EVW/Heeney.

Main reason being I have enough dollars in the bank to go Ottens/SPP to Adams/Pendles the following week.

Sometimes you need to take a small hit in points one week to go forward the next.

Spencer's out for 6-7 i think and i agree Pedersen offers decent upside at his price and expected role. It looks like all 3 were rotating through the ruck on the weekend which is interesting.

I'm not quite popping the champers with the Heeney pick yet but those CBA numbers are very positive.

Cheers IDIG

he(eney)is a gun in the making, would have been in many people's starting teams except for his glandular fever.

yes just read the CBA numbers for him, hopefully Horse keeps him in their.

Think I need to double-down unfortunately (or deal with Nank, Greene outs) but I'd love to just get him in this week.
Thanks Stephen for the info. very encouraging regarding Heeney in the middle

Just enough $$ for the below trades

Butler - Heeney

Hampton - Hibberd

Nank is currently sitting in R1 after my Spencer trade debacle so no cover unless Cameron is named which sounds like a small possibility this week.

My eventual plan was to move him back into my forward line but if he's out for 2 i'll either move him on or bring in a premo ruck if i can get the numbers to work and sit him on my fwd bench.

The problem is the only rucks i want are Stef and Mummy who i can't afford. Grundy i'm a little less keen on while Cox gets games and no one else really appeals apart from maybe McEvoy. Giles could be an option if Vardy is out for an extended period like they're reporting but i'd probably prefer to just do a full upgrade and cull a cow early.

I have the cash to go
Butler > Heeney
Stewart > Hibberd

Feels like I'd be bringing in too many midpricers though
The risk is they perform like value picks and you slowly lose ground against those that wait and bring in the big guns

In your situation that makes sense. Let's hope the tribunal is feeling generous this week. With The Tigers playing Bulldogs and Saints playing GWS you like seeing the best players out there

Rookies BE table added to post #1.

Hard to believe but we could still potentially trade in a rookie CHEAPER than their starting price, such is the nature of the landscape for this year.

Yeah that's the thing. I think they can score like proper keepers

Im in this camp Hondo, I wouldnt try and talk people out of their trades, but for me these trades feel like short term fixes, I dont think I will be looking at Hibberd or Heeney

Heeney went for 75 and Hibberd 90

My question particularly on Heeney is do you need to take the value punt right now or can you wait and see if in fact he does score like a keeper (noting you used the term "keeper" rather than "premium"). Even if you pay $470K for him eventually so what? It's still < $500K being an acceptable upgrade cost for a premium.

Starting team selection is fine to punt like this when he's taking a 50ppg rookie off your field. To be speculating at upgrade time is another thing altogether.

I've been stung by and seen others stung by these $400K value upgrades mid season that never really take off but you run out of trades to fix them.

That's without factoring in his glandular fever. Look what's happened to Roughy and the optimistic expectations that didn't account for having time off for a serious illness and how long it can take to get back to full fitness and scoring. JOM and Swallow also. Granted Heeney hasn't had as long off as those guys but still ..

Fair points. Please note however that Heeney scored 75 in his first game back and then 107 over the weekend.

Yeah really good point.

Might just stick with my one up one down trade.

I guess Bont (130) + Black (60) (my trade ins) probably isn't that far off in points than Heeney and Hibberd would be anyway
