And it's striking again this round with Dunkley in the first game which means you need to make the call on Friday.

Positive is we know Farrar, Macrae, Highmore, Frederick and Robertson by that game and also most of the rookies. Negative we don't know Bosenvulagi. The Sunday teams not terribly important though.

Personally I've narrowed my trades down to a small handful.

1. Flynn Out - If he doesn't play then I'm grabbing Farrar for Dunkley and Gawn for Gulden.

2. Flynn In - I think I still grab Farrar for Dunkley. Then tossing up between Robertson, Macrae and Bosenvulagi for Gulden or possibly Highmore for Chapman but probably will wait for Frederick/Murphy next week. But will almost certainly double down this week with the expectation that Gawn has to come in next week if it isn't this week, can't rely on Flynn at this point and not expecting a Gawn stinker to change the equation! Positive is even with Flynn in I can get Gawn if Flynn has a mare as will know if Treacy is playing before Gulden/Campbell lock out.

I will take the rookies as they come but I will basically plan for 2 down and then 1 down, 1 up for the next few rounds if possible so would prefer Flynn is in this week. If not then I start getting forced into next weeks rookies that right now I don't love, Frederick played great but the JS is sketchy if he can make the 6 weeks you really want. Murphy and Rantall are maybes that might not even exist after teams are named. I personally think Farrar is a very strong rookie that's worth the premium. Robertson probably similar and his role could improve substantially depending on how Brisbane handle Neale and Macrae if named is a chance but haven't loved his games and then Bosenvulagi is the question, I think his JS is similar to Robertson but Robertson probably better scoring potential, just not sure it's 50k better or even the 100k on Macrae!
Wow you're really bullish on Farrar huh?

Do you know if he plays lock down KPD as suggested on fanfooty? And why was his DT:SC ratio so poor from last game?

I was thinking dunkley and dead rookie to Brayshaw and Farrar all week. Now considering Farrar and Robertson and banking 400k to go 1 up 1 down for a few weeks. Need to get Rowe off field 🤔

Bit stuck on trades this week, due to limited funds, cant bring 2 solid premiums in for dunkley and gulden

atm have looked at

Dunkley -> walsh
gulden -> stringer (cheap, easy run, POD, gonna screw me though)

Dunkley -> zorko
gulden -> hind/bolton (dont like this option as much, as not confident on any of em being keepers)

dunkly -> walsh
gulden -> macrae ( 250k to go chapman to someone next round)

What about :-

Gulden - > Macrae
Dunkley - > Zorko

builds the 🏦

next Round possibly

Chapman - > May (or Houston or Ridley)
Rowe - > Heeney or Ben Brown (?)

Gulden to Heppell could also be a option

Very similar spot to me with Flynn at R2. I'm likely to continue without Gawn so long as Flynn is named solo ruck, any funny buggers with Mumford/Briggs into the side and that's me done. Dunkley will become Gawn, and Campbell to Farrar.

You're not tempted to plug Marshall in as a stop gap until a possible lower score from Gawn? (Wishful thinking I know).

If Flynn is named, I can afford Campbell/Dunkley to Zorko/Sidey but I'm really struggling to wrap my head around Sidey's prospects from here in such a bad side...

Just to clarify my previous post: the week before against the Dogs Farrar actually started on English, who is clearly not a third tall. I thought both games Farrar played well vs Heeney and English. Both games Farrar gave away strength (to Heeney) and height (a good 5 inches or so to English) and coped pretty well with his defensive duties.

In terms of the debate between him and Atu, after rewatching some footage I don't really see that much difference between the two in terms of JS/SC output. Atu shadowed the dangerous Frederick vs Freo so clearly both players are playing a lockdown role to some degree from week to week. I thought Atu made a fairly egregious mistake in the Freo game but he's playing on the worst team in the comp so I think he'll continue to get games, he's also thick set physically and is able to cope with the demands of the game unlike most rookies.

Farrar will get more intercepts, and Gold Coast clearly want to use him to run off his opponents. He's probably a better disposer of the ball as well and has been around classy players like SPS since he was a kid, but I couldn't blame anyone for picking Atu over him this week.

If Finn Macrae was playing his actual position, ie midfield, instead of playing in a forward pocket or wherever the Pies put him on the weekend, the argument between Farrar and Atu would probably be moot, that is unless people are looking at a double downgrade this week/brought Macrae in early last week.

Starting to warm to Treloar now.

Dunkley out leaves more midfield time and lots of points to go around. Treloar has multiple seasons averaging 109+. He usually finishes the season on fire. Only problem is his injury history is a little sketchy. Could be a good POD though for when he goes on one of his hot streaks.

I just can't ignore Oliver this week. A 120+ potential player for under 600k makes him a must-buy, especially with Melbourne's upcoming fixture. Leaves me needing another mid under $580k. Mundy I don't trust to keep up his form, Boak is injured. Treloar is there.

First trade will be Dunkley to Zorko I think, leaving me with almost 500k. Second trade still undecided.

For the second trade, I'd love to grab an Oliver/Steele/Walsh type, however my forward rookies are killing me. I've currently got Warner, Scott, Rowe, Facrae all on field F3-F6 (+Waterman and Brockman).

The obvious move seems to be to make a forward upgrade, but I just don't love any of the options. Don't think I'm completely sold on Sidebottom after just one game. Any thoughts?

He had a shocking start to the match but you can see why he is picked number 2 in the draft kicking 5 goals in his first match. Probably won't kick 5 goals for awhile but answering your question barring injury he should be there for nearly the rest of the year. The club is rebuilding and he will be a major part of that.
