Is this the time to do something different and move on Patrick Cripps?

5th highest owned midfielder - 53.3% of teams.
Ranked 37th midfielder on averages - 98.6
Breakeven - 168

I was planning to upgrade two rookies to Smith & Trac. However, I could create a POD by moving out Cripps instead of a rookie. It means an extra rookie on field now but he has a bye in two weeks. It would also mean with my bank that I could bring in 4 premiums over the next two weeks - Probably targeting Oliver & Merrett/Shiel who won’t have byes after Trac & Smith but if I kept Cripps I would most likely only get 3.

So the way I see it, it could be a break even over the next few weeks. However, if he doesn’t find form I have created a positive POD by not having him.

Is this a risk work taking to try and climb a few spots from my 11k ranking?
I really like the slingshot... and it's certainly piqued my interest...

... but with North missing Cunnington, Ziebell, Thomas, and Simpkin, surely Cripps comes to the fore?

My suggestion would be not to trade him. He has looked horrible at times recently but still seems to be able to salvage a 70 - I seem to recall he has a habit of this, popping up in junk time and/or accumulating pressure acts that we don’t really “see” in the stats. Someone posted that he had c. 65 in a recent match - I would have thought that’s a big number for any kind of act, and he seems to still be getting CBAs. Still has a game in hand vs almost every other player, and is M-F, so could be used as a M9/F7 if all goes well for you. DPP can also be handy in its own right through the byes (getting players in the right configuration to maximize numbers on field).

If you’re sure you want to trade, I’d say Bont, the Eagles and Parker are the best options above. Brayshaw seems highly unlikely to keep it up in my view, and Viney may not even be an upgrade if he and Smith revert to prior form. Cigs and Yeo also worth considering.

If you are prepared to wait a couple of weeks to get more info, some of your trade in options may then be past their bye, and there are likely to be cheaper and/or better value mids coming through (maybe Duncan, Selwood, Titch, even some of the names you mention like Gaff).

I assume you already have B Smith, otherwise definitely get him!
Thanks Darkie. Yes I have B Smith. I had been hoping Poloney could ave around 90. I could live with that but after a promising start he has dropped off the table. Wanted him to be north of $420 to keep upgrade options open. Your point about the bye is a good one. More thinking to be done

No worries mate. Bit of newsflow today may mean that sideways trading is a bit more viable - but some of the considerations probably still stand. Much to consider!

Now that we know the fixture for the next few rounds, plus the added trades I'll likely go:
Outs- Ceglar and C Taylor
Ins- Greenwood and Bailey Smith

Certainly gives me a sexy looking lower half of my team:

Could go Macrae instead of Greenwood but I'm still dirty on myself for backing out of starting Greenwood when I was keen

Looking at byes I can see that if I kept my current team the best I could do in Rd 10 is field 17 players. Suddenly getting the right rookies in and trading the right premos in becomes paramount.

I'll trade Hunter out now, Caroline Wilson on Footy Classified just said he's flown home to Melbourne, contrary to Bulldogs statement saying he'll stay in the hub, this means 2 weeks quarantine plus time in Melbourne, Stocker from Carlton also flying back.

Was really wanting to go Pittonet to Gawn this week. Is it madness to go Pittonet to English, save the $$$, Get English's price increase and then go English to Gawn in a few weeks?
English's double ton looks like a safe profit but at $700k a poor score could easily nullify that double ton and he goes backwards at a faster rate than Gawn.

Not liking Rankine on the bench but u probably got that looped in because of the Thursday game. Hope you can fit one in the midfield if he goes well again.

Is Dan Houston an option? Has scored 3 x100's in last 3 games , $481,000.
Actually had him put in my side for Tuesday just to see how it looked. I don't own any Port player so he is a smoky for those bye rounds once again after the hot debate before round 1. Is even more handy with Rivers or Butler in your midfield.
