Very interesting so far , given Stewart & Daniel were popular starting picks , especially for those that started 5-6 premiums

Ridley 136
Mills 118.7
Bowes 118.3
Hurn 114.3
Lloyd 112.7
Houston 111
Laird 106
Moore 103.3
Short 102.7
Rich 102.3

Jiath 102 , Cummins 93.3 very interesting
I am really regretting starting Daniel & Stewart right now. This is why you shouldn't limit yourself by starting too many premiums on one line.

The top 6 could very well end up being Ridley, Lloyd, Whitfield, Hurn, Bowes & Mills with the new rules/role changes. I can only fit in 3 of those guys unless I sideways trade....

I would be patient with Daniel. Still the dedicated kick in specialist for the doggies. Just had the 1 poor 2nd game where he had a few major clangers. Also wouldn't discount Laird who is also basically a mid.

Daniel needs to stop trying to do those dinky smartarse kicks of the side of his boot. He's starting to become like Suckling and Witherden who believed the media hype about their kicking and tried too hard, unlike those two Daniel is actually a good kick and just needs to do the basics.

Given their were probably likely 12-20 contenders for Top 6 defenders by season's end , you would need to be 110% certain that you picked the right 5-6 from the get go.

Then limits yourself to get on that speculative breakout contender eg Bowes or miss the value eg Cumming & Jiath

I may have gone too heavy up forward with Dangerfield , Dunkley , Martin & Zorko but I guess with them all being DPP gives the flexibility of being moved into the mids if necessary.

Started Daniel & Stewart myself , both underwhelming at the moment was hoping for 105+ from both of them.

Have room for one premium so will probably wait until Whitfield returns to see how he goes (Fantasia @ D6 though hasn't been that inspiring the last 2 games) , mind you if Highmore doesn't return my defence bench (Fyfe as well) is providing nothing.

Early days yet of course but hopefully they improve.

Should add Isaac Cumming to my ever increasing list of the "ones that got away". So far, it looks like he was the right pick over H.Young.
@Connoisseur Not sure but I think it might have been you who was recommending him in pre-season or something? Damm I should've given it more thought 😞
He's still on my RADAR this round.

If you look at his numbers and take out his clanger count he has actually scored from last round back 119, 120 and 105 so he does have upside.

I think you have me mistaken for someone else.

I would be cautious of Whitfield's return (whenever that may be) but for the time being he should be a solid option if you are weak down back or heavily rely on Kosi/Sharp being named, as well as hopefully providing a quick avenue to a Lloyd/Ridley/Stewart type.

Believe it was @Professor that was recommending him, he has been proven to be correct.

Daniel currently 27th on aggregate

Doubt he will grow enough to start taking intercept marks , nor will he start kicking the thing more than 40 metres.

Small sample size , but maybe he isn't automatically a Top 8 lock

and yes I am a owner

I was pretty strong against Cumming. He burnt me last year and nothing he did in the preseason convinced me he'd be any different. Either he's done something to improve his kicking efficiency or it's just a case of having extra space to make hitting targets easier. Either way, it's pretty clear there is real upside for players taking the majority of kick ins this year.

Ridley is basically putting up mid premo numbers because he guarantees himself 10+ effective or long kicks every game on top of the other lucrative aspects of intercept marking and being a great reader of the play.

Stewart and Daniel have been hurt by other players taking kick ins. Daniel has also been drinking his own bathwater.

Yep. Own both... only player I'm pretty interested in that I don't have is Hurn. I'll likely just miss out, at least Daniel is taking a lot of the kick-ins still. Stewart's lack of kick-outs is an issue, slightly countered by his 12 marks on the weekend.

Even Lloyd I am unsure if he is a must have at this stage... you would think he is top 6 though.

Not too concerned about Stewart. He and Geelong have got the game to score well. Daniel is more of a worry. I actually think he's being impacted by the number of midfielders the Bulldogs have got running around. Add to that the continued improvement of Bailey Williams and I'm worried he's not going to get out of the low 90s.
