Harrison Jones: big chance for rd 1
Finlay Macrae: likely rd 1
Lachie Jones: impressive, but no spot(?)
Powell earlier than Phillios
Braeden Campbell a chance but not immediate
Heath Chapman logjam, but has impressed
Highmore (role?): injuries might help his cause
Durdin, Chugg have impressed, genuine rd 1 chances
Sampson Ryan (Ric, RUC) has impressed, might get a chance (but likely not that early)
Grainger-Barass was in b side, outplayed by O'Brien
Thilthorpe nursed through preseason
Pedlar cautiously built up
Cox, Perkins, Reid: Cox v good in scratch match, Perkins had had an ankle, little behind but rounding into form

Yeah, thought and think so, too. Was more just his musings based on things he'd seen / his own take.
No idea in terms of Mummy promotion, not across it at all.

OK, so just had a look and might be wrong, but:
Mumford Cat A rookie.
Cat A doesn't require elevation to be eligible for selection.
But 2-min google job, could be wrong.

Yeah, and there's a chance it ends up brighter, was just interesting that a few names commonly held didn't seem to be walk-up starts (in his opinion).

I don't think rookies have to be promoted any more.

Cat A don't require promotion, Cat B do. Mumford is a Cat A (he's not a zone pick or an academy kid or Irish or whatever else qualifies them for Cat B) so he's good to play.

As long as we have enough playing rookies to start on our bench.

I guess we all have/had plenty of time to look at alternative players/structures so it certainly shouldn't be a complete surprise if their is indeed a lack of rookies selected for Round 1.

Don't think it was exhaustive, they just touched on a few different players.
And Rowe and Bergman and Jones types, it was more that they're a chance but that there might be others slightly ahead of them.
Just my notes while walking the dog, there might be a Chinese Whispers effect.

“Pencil him in to play on a wing this year - Round 1 - and then develop into a key position player.
“He’s the one of the three (first-round picks) that the Bombers expect to play nice and early.”

175K Def/Fwd - possible pair up with Laurie & Chugg.

I have read he is extremely athletic for a big guy, think he won the bombers time trial/ has a huge tank.
