Many of us have not much to play for, in the next few weeks, and we also have the finals, where we might be looking for a bit of fun and interest.
Introducing SC Golf.
Each week you will play 3 holes, and will end up with a score somewhere between 6 under, and 6 over.
Each hole you are required to select 2 players.
One player that is playing for you, and one player that is setting the par for that hole.
The easiest way to explain it, is to give an example.
Using the big match up this week between Grundy and Gawn. You might decide that you want Gawn to play for you, and Grundy to set the par for the hole.
The par is Grundy's score adjusted by the difference in price of the two players, divided by 6,000.
So in this case, the par for Gawn would be:
Grundy's score + (Grundy's price - Gawn's price)/6,000 =>
Grundy's score + ($685,900 - $625,600)/6000 = par is Grundy's score - 10.05
So, let us assume for examples sake, that Grundy scores 120, then par for Gawn now becomes 120 - 10.05 =109.95.
If Gawn scores:
16 or more better than par, you score an eagle.
6 to 15 better than par, you score a birdie.
5 worse to 5 better than par, you score a par
6 to 15 worse than par, you score a bogey
16 or more worse than par, you score a double bogey
You can choose any 2 players you like, with the proviso that they are priced at $500,000 or higher.
You can choose a lower priced player (still above $500,000!) for your par player, but then your expected par will be adjusted up.
If there are are any late withdrawals, you may replace that player from the remaining $500,000 players. If you miss the late out, the most expensive player still available, not already selected by yourself, will be the replacement.
You must choose 6 different players. No doubling up on any player.
If a count back is required, then the net strokes taken will be used.
ie, if chose Gawn, and he scores 115 against Grundy, your net strokes are 115 + 10.05 = 125.05.
There will be Round winners, and weekly winners, so no need to not play if you miss one week.
This week will be taken as a practice Round, and we will start in earnest next week.
If we get enough participants, I will arrange for a prize for the overall winner!!!
(Maybe free entry into one of the cash comps next season, depending on how many people play!!!)
If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask them.
Just post your selections like my example below in post#4.
No time cut off for entries, but obviously you cannot choose players from games that have already started or finished that Round, and to have an "official" entry, you need 6 players over $500,000.
Again, this week is a practice Round.
