What is the thinking for this when the expected bye rounds come? Or, for round 2, if the Mel v Ess game ends up in the middle of a round where neither have a double header?

Will scoring continue the same and we are just going to all cop it on the chin in those rounds and accept that some will get more luck than others?

At this stage it's a wait and see approach. When the fixture is released we'll come up with a plan of action.

Two debutants for Creme de la Creme this round with M Hibberd and B Acres replacing S Edwards and M King.

Also in a shock decision, @Connoisseur has decided to relieve L Neale of his captaincy duty for the 1st time in club history instead opting to hand the duty to E Yeo.
1 round too early.

There would be none haha, I’m sure someone would bid 5 years on Rankine and I would match it (or go 5 years myself). Probably worth the 950k odd (if that’s what it takes)!
Isn't Rankine at the end of his first contract, so for his 2nd contract you simply just decide on whether to delist him or how many years (up to 5) to give him, with no one else able to bid on him yet?

Or have I misunderstood the rules?

I might have misunderstood it as well but I thought it was like the modified auction where I could either bid 5 years to seal him up or if I bid 4, others could bid 5 (and then I could match).

My understanding is this only applies to expiring RFA's ... possibly also for those not held as well that haven't delved into it that far yet ...

Another player on the sidelines for Creme de la Creme with Gary Ablett unfortunately absent for the upcoming rounds but much to the delight of our staff, Ablett has turned his hand to a variety of other sports with a career beckoning once he is released from his contract at the end of the year.

GIANTS NEWS

Monster efforts today from big name defenders Luke Ryan and James Sicily appears to have swung momentum slightly in favour of The Giants, in what shapes as a POSSIBLE historic first ever victory for the club.

Monday night footy will be an extremely stressful watch for Giants coach Tim Goodman, who will be following the movements of Timelords defender Callum Wilkie like a hawk. The Giants hold a 127 point lead, with Wilkie the only player to come.

In what is frightening for Giants fans, Wilkie's previous two scores are 113 and 119, with the defender building into some nice scoring form since the season restart. It will take a career high score from Wilkie to get the Timelords over the line, however nothing can be ruled out in the current climate.
