Been off the site for a bit, is there a planner for next season yet? With expected new prices etc
It's being worked on ATM I'd expect it to be about mid next week after trade period is finished. Then a revised version after the draft.

How long until we get a 2016 Team Making spreadsheet? :p haha
Hopefully within two weeks. I've been flat out with uni lately, but it's probably about 50% completed at this stage. Hang in there! :)
Awesome!

Reckon you should just wait until the Trade period wraps up to save having to do a quick update early on. Trade Period ends at 2pm on Thursday the 22nd so I will be waiting for my copy at 2:30pm :p ;)
Great thinking Phil! I'll definitely make that the aim.
It's 2:40pm already Erich. I'm waiting patiently for my copy please. ;) :p

If looneyburger gains ruck/fwd, ill be pretty temped to sit him in f4 and roll the dice starting mumford if fit, knowing i've got cover for when mumford goes down. Hopefully close to a straight swap for goldy at some stage

Leuey's interview on BomberTV was interesting, he virtually says he is a pure ruckman and not much chop as a forward. Hence he struggled last year with Martin being the Lions no. 1 ruck, and him playing predominantly forward, well more forward than previously. Implied he went to Essendon to be the main ruck and Bellchambers will play forward more. Not sure how it would work with Bellchambers and Joe Daniher up forward. At any rate I rate Leuey as the better ruck so should be no. 1 for mine.

Thats what i want to hear.
A pure Ruckman next season, scoring like a no 1 ruckman but sitting in my fwd line.
Big thanks to the lions if he does get ruck/fwd next year haha

Dan Currie presents as an option for R3. Hopefully should get some games at the Gold Coast, replacing Zac Smith, although I assume would be behind Tom Nicholls in the pecking order. Should be at a budget price, just a pity he will probably be just a ruck and not R/F though.

Dan Currie a lock for R3 Philzsay.
My daughter is good mates with a fella who plays for Werribee with Dan Currie.
He says he is a massive unit and a excellent ruckman. Says he was never in the hunt at North up against Goldy but should get games at Gold Coast.
Up against Nicholls but with Dixon now traded, he thinks GC will play both.
Would be a blessing if he was named a R/F, doubtful though.

Hahaha patience my friend, patience. There is a plethora of reasons/'excuses' why I haven't been able to finish it yet ranging from everything from illnesses to uni and music commitments and everything in between. BUT the good news is it will be up by MONDAY at the LATEST. Very excited to finally get this out there and to see some teams getting created :D

DELISTED Fremantle midfielder Jacob Ballard is pushing for a second AFL opportunity after being squeezed off the Dockers' rookie list after two seasons.

Fresh from winning WAFL club Peel Thunder's best and fairest award, Ballard was reluctantly let go by Fremantle because the club couldn't see him forcing his way past its long list of midfielder's in 2016.

He had a positive exit meeting and is understood to have piqued the interest of a number of clubs late in the season once it became clear he could be available.

One recruiter said the tireless onballer would be a readymade player for a team that required midfield depth.

"Jacob's had a solid two years and he's just now learnt the consistency of AFL football and he wants another opportunity," Ballard's manager Tim Hazell told AFL.com.au.

"The conversation Jacob and Fremantle had was more about opportunities.

"Looking at Fremantle's midfield for the next two to three years, it's so gun loaded with good midfielders that they felt they needed to free up some spots on their list.

"It was a really positive exit meeting and Fremantle hope he gets an opportunity and kicks on his AFL career."

Ballard averaged 26 possessions in the WAFL this season and has continued to develop as a leader, but his ball use and speed from hand to foot are the two aspects he needs to improve, according to recruiters.

Hazell said the midfielder would remain in Perth to continue training, making his next step based on interest from AFL clubs.

"He'll have conversations with us and AFL clubs that have shown some interest and see where it ends up for him," Hazell said.

"He'd move anywhere to get his AFL career up and going, and he's still young enough to hop on a rookie list and make the most of it.

"He's a natural leader, he's a hard trainer and he's really well regarded by everyone at Fremantle.

"He's just a complete role model and someone worth taking a chance on."

Anyone have any thoughts on Zac Smith at Geelong affecting Blicavs? Is he capable of a repeat of this season in 2016

My $0.02 worth says Blicavs will likely contest fewer Ruck contests, and as such his score will probably stagnate or a drop a little. If that happens, he probably isn't a viable pick in 2016.

Picked my first team using Erich's planner, a quick pick of players I like! Now comes the hard part, trying to reduce my costs spend on ultra premiums, realised I selected the most expensive player in all four positions!

Huge decisions to be made on the dearest backman and forward, Heath Shaw and Brett Deledio. Lids I will probably end up passing on as I think there are a few other forwards I will get. Shaw is an interesting proposition, can he play all games again or will he go back to his old 18 odd game seasons?

Thanks Rowsus. I am thinking there along the same lines but he had such a great season this year and I wondered if there was any upside left.

My friends from work keep telling me it's too early to discuss SuperCoach, and I'm struggling with that logic. This is my planning time and where I work through the good and bad ideas I've had to date. Over the next few weeks I'll share some questions to get the conversation talking about 2016 teams.

1. What to do with the rucks. At present I am thinking Berger and Currie at R1 & R2 if Currie is the number 1 ruckman at GCS (which I think is a possibility). I have also thrown Nic Nat into the mix at times after he only managed 75% TOG this year. A full season without injury and no more sub rule means I think he could go +82%TOG and +110 average. My rank outside is endurance gun, it's not Blicavs, but McEvoy! With Hale and the sub rule gone, I can see him playing as the one and only ruckman. I don't see he and Ceglar playing in the same side often, as it makes them too top heavy and neither can go forward with effect. He averaged 100 in the back half of 2015 with Hale in the side. He is my rank smokey for 105 average in 2016.
