I dropped Gulden earlier in the season, so I just can't fathom getting him, even though it might really hurt me

Chandler > Cameron
McKenna > Sharp

If Cameron is ruled out after his test tomorrow, then I may have to get Gulden...

I've gone Hopper/Mckenna->Walsh/Sharp

Considering going Chandler->Drury but really worried I'm upgrading half the rookies on field and turning the rest of my rookies who I've been using on field into unusable/donuts.

But can't see a higher priced alternative with good JS and scoring potential??

If I didn’t own them ,Gulden and Stewart…
both have the better byes to help navigate rounds 14 and 15….
Gulden low Break even so will be over $600k by next week…

All depends on your bye structure…

Walsh has the final bye ,will get DPP so he would be the next target

Do most of these people trading in Sharp already have Drury? I don't quite understand why everyone is going for Sharp if everyone seems to think he will be dropped for Rich who is only one week away.
I don't think everyone thinks that. I'm trading in Sharp but I do already have Drury

I can easily see Lester or Wilmot getting dropped for Rich. I don't think Sharp or Drury (or Humphrey) are particularly great options anyway, so I wouldn't stress too much. Drury may hold his spot but he's not going to make much $ at this rate, or be much use during the byes. I would rate them Sharp > Drury > Humphrey only because of Humprey's price and volatility.

I think Sharp is being harshly treated on here.

We are literally talking about him "possibly" getting dropped from a FULL STRENGTH Brisbane team when Rich returns. At worst, he's their 23rd guy and it takes 1 injury/suspension for him to get back into the team.

I remember everyone talking down Dylan Williams a few weeks back because of his "poor job security" when Port literally had no-one on their injury list. What happened? Port picked up a few injuries and now Williams is entrenched inside their 22 (y)

No what happened was he was made the sub on his bubble week and so no one picked him.

Exactly.

I didn't quite see 'everyone' talking down Williams. In fact, I recall he was looking as though he would be a very popular pick until he was named as sub for his 3rd match this season.
People were splitting hairs over Matt Roberts, Matt Johnson & Dylan Williams in the week prior. The knocks on Dylan Williams was his poor job security despite Port having a full strength team.

The fact he was sub just made everyone's decision for them (y)

My thoughts on the rookie debate for this round are that both Humphrey and Sharp look to be decent enough options. Both come with their own risks.

I think if coaches can afford Humphrey and the premium upgrade as the 2nd trade for the round is not compromised then that's the way to go. If coaches are compromised with their upgrade due to lack of cash then Sharp over Humphrey appears to be okay.

I don't see Drury as an option due to poor role and coming off an SC score of just 17 from a full game.

Hall back makes me question if a straight swap with Sheezel for D. Cam is the play this week. Feels ridiculous dropping a lad averaging 99.7 but Cameron isn't going to get any cheaper

How many 190K+ rookies can people realistically bring in at this point though?

Sure, you may be able to get Humphrey and a premium upgrade this week - but does that compromise your team next week or the week after and lock you out of Wardlaw?

I think it is wise that people plan ahead here.

Not a lot of talk about Bytel. Seems like he has good JS, has been the sub a fair bit but might get better opportunities with Steele carrying an injury etc. 116k this week.
From perusing the StKilda board it seems like many of their fans consider him an understudy to Steele/Crouch, so it would make sense if he gets Steele's minutes I guess.
Risk is he's just one of those blokes who's too good for VFL but not good enough to make it at the top level.
Thoughts?

I reckon he was getting talked down because people saw his JS as poor. Then he was dropped so everyone figured that those who had claimed the poor JS were actually in the know (if I recall a bit of the JS talk was coming from PA supporters). Then he got the sub reprieve, but by then everyone was out in him, and so (as is the requirement of supercoach) once everyone had missed him he became a locked in fieldable rookie certainty.
