OUT: Oliver/Anderson
IN: Merrett

Don’t care about O’Neil tag will be bringing Merrett in. Was planning to “downgrade” Anderson to Merrett, but if Oliver is out as it seems then he’ll be the first player to go.

Can still do another premium sideways trade though while Anderson is $630K.

Could hold Anderson but feels unlikely. The fact his BE was 8 the week I traded him in was partly the reason he had appeal (aka two poor games but still went up $35k and now can readjust even if it is a wasted trade)

Wardlaw looks great for next week.

Oliver to Merrett
Ginby to Humphrey

Wardlaw in next week, for either, Sharp, Davey or JVR, or for one of my loops in Constable or Wagner as the byes are coming up and I doubt they will play another game this season

If I may ask for some advice, what should I do with Will Day? Currently $490,000. Hasn’t gone near scoring 100 for several weeks (scored 74 this week). Do I just accept his current form and hope that he plays better, or do I trade him out?

Depends on how many trades you have left and your bye situation? For my team I am thinking of keeping him as I only have 15 trades left but he will be gone as soon as he has his bye.

I was going to make similar points to @GrainFedBeef.

Day copped a tag this week, but won't every week (maybe most weeks?).

Unless you expect tags near term, I would probably hold him for now and reassess just before his bye (or at least after one bye has passed). If you trade him in that window, you can get another premium scorer on field, and squeeze a bit more value out of what could otherwise be a sideways trade.

You'll also have more info then, and he may come good by that time.

Just rage trades for Sunday night

JHF would be a roller-coaster but purpose would be just until the R15 bye. Merrett is coming in. I'm not sure on Steele but it would probably be better to buy low rather than my upgrades I've been doing this year (Dawson $650K, Stewart $597K, Ryan $573K, Anderson $605K, Walsh $610K)

Been playing it straight down the line so far, but after going backwards this week and making a mess of my bench depth feels like I need a correction week.

Assuming over has to go

Oliver/Cincotta/Davey
to
B. Smith/Wines/Wardlaw would leave me 150k to fun an upgrade from Ginbey the next week

If I hold Oliver (if 1-2 I guess) then it's harder but can maybe just go Cincotta->Wines and Ginbey->Hobbs

The second leaves S Mitchell, Ashcroft, Humphrey and Callaghan on field. (with Oliver on the bench)

The first means one of Humphrey and Callaghan gets replaced by B. Smith this week

Currently 18 trades, 2 boosts.

I have no idea.

A little torn.
Like the value proposition of Steele but still worry about the durability.
Laird works well for my bye structure.
Soliciting genuine feedback on this:

Bont > Laird
Cowan > Fleeton
O Baker > Ridley via Cincotta

How do people see trading Bont out on a value / bye balance basis?

I think if I was to trade out Bont, I would want to be doing it when he had a high BE, or when I could get a second premo out of it. It doesn’t seem like that’s the case with this combo. He has GC and North in the next month and only one score below 112.

Not sure which way I'll go this week. Originally planned on Roberts/Sturt to Fleeton, might still do that. Waiting to see what Gawn's FWD % is as I can grab him for Ryan or even Callaghan next week. Fleeton not setting the world on fire just yet, but has big potential to score well I think. Was racking them up for weeks on end in the VFL before getting a game. JS seems pretty good to me, particularly with Himmelberg and Haynes going down with injury. He's pretty tall, standing at 192cm so could play as the 3rd tall defender if required. Only player who could trouble him for his spot I believe is maybe Fahey, but he has moved onto the wing in recent weeks and probably comes in for Angwin if he gets a game. Fleeton came in for Cumming and he won't be back until after the bye. Scored 47 from just 6 disposals in his first game which is good to see. He has the perfect bye for my team with Cincotta the only other round 15 DEF. Ziebell and Sheezel up FWD too. Getting big Dylan Williams vibes from this pick.

Edit: After doing a bit of research I've found out that Fleeton's DOB is 17/6/2002. GWS play Freo on 17/6 in round 14, he'll be celebrating his 21st... spike game? Lol.

I have Cincotta, Simpson, Johnson, Hewett, Madden, Sturt and Roberts all as potential DNP's. Hoping Cincotta is back after Boyd's poor game but expecting Carlton to give Boyd at least one more game to try earn his spot. Simpson I think stays due to his performances prior to that game. No one who is fit is really going to push him out apart from maybe Dempsey. Not sure how far away the likes of Guthrie/Dangerfield are. Hoping Johnson keeps playing, even if only as sub. Probably going to sit on my bench for the rest of the season. Need him to play in rounds 14&15. Hewett could get a game soon considering how bad the Eagles are, he should be given an opportunity soon. Likely scores poorly if he ends up playing though. Madden and Roberts no chance to play through the byes. Sturt has had 2 good WAFL performances since his axing, but Freo are starting to win games and his competition in Treacy, Amiss, Banfield and Fyfe are all playing well. Needs an injury to break back in.

I have him too and he's becoming a worry, but bear in mind the Eagles coach insisted on tagging him even though they lost by over 100 points LOL
His scores have been dropping every week since he came back from his suspension, not ideal!
If you have a good amount of trades left and some spare money maybe consider moving him on to someone more reliable.
I might have to hold him because I am desperately low on trades.
Thank you, @Russty_ I very much appreciate the advice. 💛 I will likely hold him as well for the same reason.

He was tagged and would hold. Many have him, in a year where rookies are not raining $$ upon us, a premium injured every week, Day as a value play is fine. Unless someone is bleeding cash (he isn't), then hold and can always consider around the byes where you trade them to a premium who have played that week.
@GrainFedBeef, thank you for the advice. I greatly appreciate it. I'm learning a lot. 💛

@Peter56, thank you for the advice. It is much appreciated. 💛

It seems that the consensus advice here is to hold until mid or post-byes. I think I will follow that advice.🙂
