What's the view on Ridley's improved scoring in the last two weeks? Sustainable or something of a fluke?

Feels positive that he can do it against WCE in a game they dominated... can typically be when the backs struggle.
Might have something to do with Baldwin coming in, and then Laverde replacing Baldwin, meaning he's not playing a lockdown role the last 2 games.

Liking Witts to bring in for the injured Darcy especially with the good bye round.

Went early on Ford last week and still want Wardlaw so will grab him.

Also thinking Briggs as coverage over the bye rounds and cash gen at R3 for one of my dead rookies is a good move.

Wilmot, Rowston and Darcy out.

Nice to be able to make an "attacking" move this week after 2-3 weeks of adjusting rookies and generating cash. Williams to Macrae this week for me.

Bye numbers are fortunately favorable for me this year (which is through pure luck rather than anything I've deliberately done) with my numbers post this trade being:
Round 12: 20 playing
Round 13: 23 playing
Round 14: 18 playing
Round 15: 15 playing

Thinking maybe now going big this around.

Ryan, Mitchell and atkins > Briggs, ford and Dawson.

Then in theory to get full premium it be
Day - sideways at bye (Lloyd likely)
Shezel - sideways at bye (best mid can afford)
Humpries - Neale
Briggs - sideways Cameron at his bye

So 9 trades left for above 4 moves. Might squeak thru with 2-3 trades left

I dont think he will be named. I dont think he looks good even in VFL, too raw and young. Hickey has had concerns so has been there to help out, expect with bye, confidence in Hickey grows into R13.

Challenge is I have Teackle at R3 and can get 130-150k depending on who I bring in. if McAndrew is in R13 then will trade, if not can hold or consider Madden. I struggle with Briggs, understand the money making side yet too much money parked on the sidelines it feels without on field scoring.
I would revisit Briggs Looks odds on to make 100k plus by r 15 then ooroo. Gives you a warm body R 12 plus an opportunity to offload some crappy rook chesser /long /davey Keep maddern as fwd

If I had Darcy, I reckon I’d be looking at Briggs as his short term replacement, and then getting a longer term ruck down the track. If you can get a premium in a different position and field Briggs near term, I think that could be a nice kicker from the need to trade Darcy.

Thanks NDD.

I think Briggs works for many and is well picked in top 1/5% as well which is a good sign. Should make $150k maybe more if maintains his position.

I have 19 playing in R12 including Laird and Atkins. If Atkins out, Cincotta (20th off field player) may play. Also can upgrade Ashcroft (Esava down) to Macrae as an option.

R15 remains a larger issue, which Briggs doesn't help. Post Ashcroft upgrade, Teakle (plus SMitchell) down helps me upgrade Worpel and Atkins (consider Sicily and Brayshaw). Potentially one of these names become Neale to help R15 more.

This leaves Johnson, Wardlaw, Cincotta, Ford, Osin (maybe to come in) to get to my last premium and 22nd position onfield in between.

Potentially leaving me with 2-4 trades which is why I am skipping Briggs and still holding Oliver!

Balancing trades vs cash generation is critical. No point chasing cash gen if you cannot crystallise it. My team value is close to $13.7m, despite all the injuries and midprice blow ups, I focused on cash gen early in the season.

Appreciate the follow up.

If you have any views on Macrae vs Sicily vs Neale vs Andy Brayshaw they are appreciated. Have only one fwd/def spot (3 mids) left so a combined Macrae and Sicily means Will Day to mids with potn sideways trade later in season trades/cash permitting.

I’m at a bit of a loss what to do with the 4-8 week prognosis for Darcy. Use his money to upgrade another premium next week and hold Ashcroft for short term or hold Darcy and have Briggs cover him for as long as I can.

Could get away with it over the bye period, and I’m not particularly keen to throw away Darcy who has been so good this season barring 1-2 games.

Where did the 4-8 weeks come from? I thought they had no timeline.

Tempted to upgrade Ashcroft to Brayshaw / Serong this week to keep my trades 'free' for another upgrade next week – Anyone else considering the same?
Considering moving Ashcroft on this week….
plays at the mcg in round 13, can’t take another score of 52 for that price…would rather move up to a premium and thank him for the $217k profit…

My 2 cents worth -
Macrae - only if your set for rnd 15 or don’t care
Sicily - missed the bottom. Still decent and know can
Neale- Brisbane have a lot of games at Gabba on way home. Expecting strong second half the year
Bradshaw - wouldn’t go near him. Serong over taken him

Another reason to avoid Brayshaw is that Darcy being out might mean less supply to the Freo mids. They’re going to have to win a lot more of their own ball rather than being gifted it by a class ruck.

Someone mentioned a moderate tear or strain (can’t remember which) which someone then pulled other info that the moderate rating could be anywhere between 4-8 weeks. Let me go searching through the thread and I’ll update this post.
This is in the AFL injury list.

Darcy has sustained a "moderate grade" hamstring strain, with the Dockers not yet putting a timeframe on his return. Fremantle's bye is well timed, but the ruckman would still be expected to miss round 13 before pushing to play against Greater Western Sydney on June 17 at the soonest. – Nathan Schmook
