They are apparently searching the world for the best medical & fitness staff as we speak. Would be a long overdue change to get some decent people at the top of their fields.

To be fair though, Quite a lot of the injuries are collision & impact based... Not sure there is anything they could do about those.

It's the hamstring and other soft tissue injuries that have you asking questions about strength & conditioning and training programs.
Agree, but I think it's all linked. I've got no doubt there are probably players playing that aren't ready for the AFL yet are forced to be fielded due to more senior players being injured that, really should not be on the list to start with. WCE have backed themselves into a corner over the last couple of years and it's really hurting.

At this point "doing something about it" might as well be starting to put the players out of their misery. They're getting old, think about their quality of life, etc.
These are the tough decisions that need, should've been made. I mean look at Gaff, he's fit but let's be serious, would he be running out on the field in any other team.

Swan given all clear after head knock

Sydney coach John Longmire revealed post-game that Blakey had carried a toe injury into the game that hampered him before the incident, which contributed to the Swans' decision to make the sub rather than waiting for him to pass a concussion test.

"No, he passed his HIA he was fine in the end," Longmire told reporters on Thursday night.

"It was going to take 15 minutes by the time he was assessed and allowed back on the ground, which was pretty critical at that point.

"He had a toe injury coming into the game and we had to get moving; it was a pretty important part of the game; 15 minutes is a good slab of time.

"With his toe being sore we made a change. It was only last week that he hurt it and he came into the game a bit sore. Hopefully he will be OK next week."

Yeah the injury reports for most clubs have been the worst I have seen this year.

It is a mixture of not giving to much information to other clubs but also the need to be honest and transparent to your members.
But most times why bother. The guy is either playing or he is not. No other club is going to be fooled by the state of a guy who everyone knows has some kind of injury.

The only time I could accept clubs playing ducks and drakes is when a player gets an injury that is not obvious and the player can play through it. Eg cracked ribs or a broken wrist. In those circumstances when the injury is not obvious and no one knows about it I can understand a club keeping quiet. They want that player out there playing but they do not want opposition players targeting a players ribs or his wrist.

Can remember a game a while back where a player had a hand injury and the opposition guys were trying to slap his hand to make it worse or put him off.

Steven Baker was pretty scummy though, and from memory the injury happened during the game.
There was one where Lloyd came back from a hand injury, and they started to whack and punch his hand before the bounce. Just bad sportsmanship IMO. Play the game. Don't like those dirty tactics. The same thing when Riewoldt had a shoulder and the Brisbane guys got into him. Come on.
