Gosh ... I've watched that Sicily tackle so many times now and still can't see what he actually did wrong ...
- it was a lunging tackle and a fringe playing might get dropped from the team for not attempting it ...
- he was never in a position of strength ... it just looked like pure momentum from the player being tackled ...
- didn't see any malice or intent ... and a third player also contributed to the outcome ...
- yes he held him right through the tackle ... but gosh we are still talking about a nano second ...
I'd be definitively contesting this one ... I don't see that he has a case to answer for at all ..

Not being a prick ...
But Zeibell come off from a head knock requiring stitches ....
- who caused it I don't know but it was still contact to his head in a football incident ... just not involving the ground ...
- I'm now struggling to see the difference between that and a tackle ... both can have the same level of impact, force etc ...
- not even going to touch on the intent side of it ...
I see a big can of worms opening up .... can you in the future also get suspended in a contested mark situation etc when contact might be made with the head ...

The AFL needs to come out and make it clear what is acceptable and what is not. In terms of tackles, bumps and head contact.
Right now there are so many inconsistencies it is a joke. You can tackle a player with no intent of causing harm and in a manner that is careful but if the tackled player hits his head, irrespective of how careful the tackler has been you will almost always get time.
Yet you can take a flying leap after a 20m run up to gain momentum, into a pack of players with your knee up and nail someone in the back of the head with your knee and that is perfectly fine.
Makes the AFL look stupid and leaves everyone angry about why we even have rules.

It was definitely an accidental head clash, in the heat of play. From memory both players facing the same direction. Also more importantly from memory, it was his team mates head that did the damage.
I think that's where the AFL need to be more lenient on accidental AND incidental head injuries, because they otherwise need to start charging teammates when it is applicable!!!

Agree with the sentiment that things are getting ridiculous. If the AFL is going to take this hardline a stance then I’d love to see them fining/suspending players who negligently drop their knees or raise and arm to draw head high contact. If the head is to be protected, then don’t let players repeatedly get themselves hit in the head and then reward them for it!
And I’m not saying it’s the players fault always.. there are a lot of clumsy tackles. But don’t encourage players to play for the contact!
