Don't think I'll trade this week, fielding 18 (pending) and only have 7 trades left and 2 upgrades to go. I could go Ford > Maric but I might wait a week and just use 4 trades to upgrade those last 2, Humphrey & Ashcroft to Oliver and someone else

I've got the exact same three I was going to kick the can until next week but that price plummet is a good point of interest...

My thought process:
  1. Marshall. Clear #1. Averaging almost 110. Top three option (of the established rucks). Really solid form after a slow first month. Never seems to have injury concerns.
  2. Briggs. Done well in wins and losses. Not dropped his bundle at any point, and seems to be able to power through despite looking absolutely shattered towards the end of games. Preuss still doesn't have a timeline on a return, and Flynn hasn't been setting the VFL alight. Kingsley obviously prefers the single ruck model. Will he hit a "rookie" wall? The guy is 23 though. The problem is that he's not done making cash nor is he at a price to get you value.
  3. Darcy. Can go massive, can absolutely mess the bed. A constant injury concern. If I was picking in a bubble, he'd be #2 but that price opens up so many more options, e.g. a straight trade for Merrett. If you have him you almost have to have backup, otherwise you're copping a donut at some point.
I'm very much leaning towards Darcy out and rolling with Briggs, as you can probably tell. No way would I be hopping off Marshall at this point, he's not even entering the conversation.
The tough thing is that if Darcy is the trade out option it probably needs to happen this week.
It's fine for my cash league as we aren't playing byes this year in an attempt to keep it even by playing every team once.
But wouldn't mind the extra player on field. Is what it is though.

I agree - I started playing around and it depends on who gets selected, because with four trades I think I still only get to 18 unless guys like Chessor or Davey are named.

Currently looking at being "full premo" heading into this weekend (although only have 15 green ticks - yikes).

I say "full premo" as I have Ziebs and Sheezel still.

5 trades left. Currently have Humphrey as my M9/ F7.
Wondering what people would think about swinging him to a Yeo (can't believe i'm saying that) or Kennedy as D/M or even Keays as a M/F?

Both of Yeo and Kennedy provide a bit more of an option for defence which is where I'm probably short one. Whereas Keays has shown he's got the scoring ability previously and if the role is there he might go 90-100.

If I go Kennedy I can wait a week as the blues have a bye.
Yeo and Keays both have fairly low BEs.

The final option would be hold Humphrey and downgrade next week or week after when his BE gets a bit high. Then have coin to be able to upgrade Sheez/ Ziebs depending on roles.
Would probably mean a better final 22 (missing Tom Stewart currently)... But definitely wouldn't have a great bench option for loop scoring.

Good luck mate, awesome season so far - hope you come home strong (y)
Is a shame how the funds played out but dont think going down to 2 trades or having no real cover warrants being able to get a better defender than Luke Ryan, think he can be solid enough with a stack of games at Optus and Longmuir seemingly keen to use Young through the middle which fingers crossed provides a monopoly on kick ins for Ryan.

For mine your def is done with Sheezel. Your forwards are done. Your rucks are done. Focus on Mitchell Atikins Cincotta to Oliver and your choice of M8. Perhaps Marshall to English if you get some coin off the bench at some point with your trade glut! Nice work.
OK thanks, @randomcliche I appreciate your idea; I’ve pencilled out this alternative keeping Sheezel. It has the big advantage of getting full Premo by R16, saving a trade but slight downfall is only having 17 playing R15, as it would be Atkins down I doubt if I’d be losing too many points.
I’ll sleep on until teams are named and likely go with it.

R15: Stewart and Buller come in as above plus Cincotta > Mullin, Sheezel > D6, Atkins > Oliver via Coniglio
Leaves me 17 playing R15, including 12 Premos. $92k itb, 8 trades with 1 boost left.

R16: Johnson > 102k rookie, Mitchell > CDaniel; need Johnson & Mitchell to increase in value by ~$16k to get Daniel, I like the DPP flexibility between Sheezel and Daniel. Down to 6 trades with still 1 boost available.

Hey mate, I think if I were in your position with 5 left, I'd want to hang on to those trades for as long as I could, because you will need them.
That could mean taking a hit this week with the score. I'd say Sheezel and Ziebs qualify as premos, 97 and 99 averages is good enough for that. I was gonna trade Sheezel out to Ryan this week but don't have to...so I might just wait and save a trade. With 5 left, have you traded every week so far? The worst thing is running out of trades, it renders you powerless to do anything and you just get rolled in your leagues when you have players missing.

12 trades left before trades this week

Ashcroft to Oliver (hope he plays)
Wardlaw to DCam (thinking he could be very important later in the year)
Mitchell to Maric

Just Johnson to upgrade and team done was waiting for Mills but probably just get Cripps next week.

Hoping for 18 but that includes Chesser.

Yeh one of those years with a mix of a few poor decisions early and then got hit with pretty much every injury/ suspension issue that has popped up. Also meant that in my main cash league I struggled early, so am chasing my tail a bit to ensure I get a spot in the finals and then hang on for dear life then.
Probably will hold with the 5 trades now and hope Humphrey can get back to some 90-100s.

I had 8 trades until this week - with 3 being used to move rookies on to bring in Cameron and Dawson.
