Who are the uber prems this year by your definition
@Chumpion?
For me, the uber premiums are players where you're paying north of $600k and have a reasonable expectation of 120+ AND they are giving you consistent 120+ captain scores. You're paying a premium price for certainty and security.
By that definition, the guys I have in that rage this year are:
Bontempelli
1/14 score under 100
9/14 scores over 120
4/14 scores over 140
Oliver (pre injury)
1/10 scores under 100
6/10 scores over 120
1/10 scores over 140
English
3/14 scores under 100
9/14 scores over 120
2/14 scores over 140
Daicos
2/13 scores under 100
8/13 scores over 120
2/13 scores over 140
Dunkley, Taranto, Petracca all land in the next tier, as they aren't as consistently over 120 (all are less than 50% scores over 120) - Libba is one I have on the fence between uber and one tier down.
One thing I will say is that to me, Uber premiums are pretty rare, and I set a pretty high benchmark. the investment in these guys can be huge (although you can usually get them cheap at some point), and so the expectation needs to be very high. Why I don't think Petracca fits that bill, is that he isn't someone you confidently put the C on because he has just that bit too much volatility. Bont (65%), Oliver (60%), English (65%) and Daicos (62%) reward you with 120 plus at a much better strike rate than Petracca (39%), Dunkley (42%), or Taranto (36%).
It is also very relative, in that Petracca at $580k would be a great buy, but at $650k has a different expectation. Not to say he isn't the right move and it could pay off, but I would usually want more consistency from a guy in that price range. That said, timing is also a factor, as part of the reason you want less volatility is the fact that guys like Petracca can be grabbed sub $600k because they fluctuate so much, but that is less relevant as the season goes on as waiting to round 20 for him to dip in price again isn't worth the lost points between now and then.
