At a bit of a loss as to what I can do this week, selection has left me with only 15 playing. Got a bunch of rookies who need 1-2 more weeks of cash gen, not that there's any downgrade options anyway. Still 9 trades and 2 boosts remaining so plenty to use, but just no idea how I can use them?

$91,500 in the bank

If you're playing for leagues you can sit this week and let your rookies grow.
If going for best overall spot you'll need to get aggressive and trade out Sheezel and another bye prem I think + Concotta/Ford.

Have traded in J Fletcher at this stage but tempted to go Harvey Harrison and get Fletcher next week instead when on the bubble. Really unsure as both feel job security isn't the best and the main reason for trading in is to maximise a score this week with only 17 on field

Can someone get me excited about the idea of grabbing Coniglio next week? The man cops so much hate.

Would love Butters instead but it's really difficult to justify the extra ~135k. Cash I want to eventually use for Briggs > English.
Perfect opportunity to get a POD I would have thought?

Coniglio is popular and underwhelming - would love to have Butters or Macrae instead.

I just got rid of him!! It was either him or Steele, but I needed Steele this week.

He is on my 'never' to trade again list, until next season ;)

Thinking:
Ford > Maric
Atkins > D.Cameron
Cincotta > Harrison (or Sheldrick or Fletcher)
Ziebell > Dawson (finally!)

Leaves me 8 trades to bring in a fwd and a mid, or two mids, or a def and a mid, etc.
Obviously a mid would be Oliver - the last one, best available.

Keep Sheez get rid of Ziebs.

20 this week.

Hahaha. Oh boy.

OK, this is probably what I needed to hear. I'll need to get fruity to find a little extra cash for Butters then.

Might entertain a Young > Yeo or Johnson > Windhager now. Gulp.

Who are the uber prems this year by your definition @Chumpion?
For me, the uber premiums are players where you're paying north of $600k and have a reasonable expectation of 120+ AND they are giving you consistent 120+ captain scores. You're paying a premium price for certainty and security.

By that definition, the guys I have in that rage this year are:

Bontempelli
1/14 score under 100
9/14 scores over 120
4/14 scores over 140

Oliver (pre injury)
1/10 scores under 100
6/10 scores over 120
1/10 scores over 140

English
3/14 scores under 100
9/14 scores over 120
2/14 scores over 140

Daicos
2/13 scores under 100
8/13 scores over 120
2/13 scores over 140

Dunkley, Taranto, Petracca all land in the next tier, as they aren't as consistently over 120 (all are less than 50% scores over 120) - Libba is one I have on the fence between uber and one tier down.

One thing I will say is that to me, Uber premiums are pretty rare, and I set a pretty high benchmark. the investment in these guys can be huge (although you can usually get them cheap at some point), and so the expectation needs to be very high. Why I don't think Petracca fits that bill, is that he isn't someone you confidently put the C on because he has just that bit too much volatility. Bont (65%), Oliver (60%), English (65%) and Daicos (62%) reward you with 120 plus at a much better strike rate than Petracca (39%), Dunkley (42%), or Taranto (36%).

It is also very relative, in that Petracca at $580k would be a great buy, but at $650k has a different expectation. Not to say he isn't the right move and it could pay off, but I would usually want more consistency from a guy in that price range. That said, timing is also a factor, as part of the reason you want less volatility is the fact that guys like Petracca can be grabbed sub $600k because they fluctuate so much, but that is less relevant as the season goes on as waiting to round 20 for him to dip in price again isn't worth the lost points between now and then.

If you're going for overall, then Wardlaw and Ford might be the ones to go for Windhager and Sheldrick.
Both North boys had poor scores in their last game, so cash gen will likely dry up soon, and there may not be anything around when it does.

Windhager and Sheldrick both play Eagles in one of their next two games, and got good scores last round.
They've also got DPP so give you far more flexibility. They'll get you pts this week and will generate better cash over the next few weeks.
Windhager named as a follower this week.

Wardlaw, Ford & Sharp out for Sheldrick, Harrison & Yeo.

Gets me up to only 17 for this week, jeez I hate the extended bye rounds!! Still got a boost but no rookies to use it on (I brought Maric in last week)

Here is my current team post-byes:

Plan is to trade Steele/Humphrey + Wardlaw to Sinclair + Windhager/Sheldrick. Really lost in which direction I should go and would love to hear thoughts and suggestions before pulling the trigger.

A) Own Humphrey/Windhager (+61k cash)
B) Own Steele/Sheldrick (+12k cash)
C) Other

Annoyingly I am $200 short of owning the Steele/Windhager combo.
