Ando VS Price hedge worked well. Considered the double hedge with keeping Wade and Dobey but felt that the finalist from the top half would come from the quarter final winner of Humphries/Searle/Ando/Price.

Caught most of the Wade VS Dobey match this morning which was an entertaining battle. Trademark Wade finishing until he nearly blew it in the 18th leg on throw with seven missed darts .

I'm 100% taking Rock in the QF stage. Also 100% taking Humphries as well. Minimal shares in them dictates that for me. MvG wins and it's the easiest team selection I've had in a while.

Geez Gary played well this morning. Kind of expected it to be a bit of a rip snorter. Hadn't beaten Gezzy on TV since 2018 apparently. Think there was a bit of motivation there.

Humph was unreal too. Imo the best player on the planet right now. 105+ avg going 10/27 on doubles is insane.

Everyone tbh played really well those morning (even those that lost). Those 2 were the standouts imo.

Would love to see Gary win one more tv major especially in his “favourite tournament”. Worst case is a thrid world title in the New Year.
Quality presser as well.

I'd written Wade off there when I saw the scores at 11-15. Won it 16-15.
Score was 12-14 and then 12-15 Rock’s way before Wade won the last four legs.

How did Rock lose that, choked good and proper.
Wade had the throw on the 28th and 30th leg. Finished with a checkout percentage of 64% (16/25) to Rock’s 41.67% (15/36). Tough for an opponent to cross the finishing line especially if their opponent ups their scoring or doesn’t miss at double. 3 of those last four legs were 15 or less darts by Wade and bar the last leg, Rock only had one opportunity at double, a missed double top in the 29th leg, since the score went 12-15.

Wade is one of only a select few that you do not want to face in this type of situation and it was moreso his clinical finishing and experience that won out in the end rather than Rock choking. Rock knew the importance of the visit and seemed to deviate from his usual routine by taking longer or pausing before the last dart which heaps extra pressure on and thus try too hard. Expect him to take a different approach next time he finds himself in this type of situation again.
