Tight battle for the most popular player so far:

Are there no prizes for finishing top 1011 anymore? Nothing stated in the prizes section which would suck.
It looks like KFC are no longer a sponsor, replaced by Swysh. Top 10 each week get a $50 Swysh voucher, not sure if the top 1011 overall will get anything, but probably not.

I am guessing I am not the only one who had no idea who/what Swysh is. From the welcome email, it seems it's players filming video messages for money. Not something I'll be using even if I do happen to fluke winning it.

As a non-subscriber pleb I am very excited at the prospect of it opening up and changing it 10,000 times before R0. Is SC Plus worth it, just out of interest?
A lot of the information is accessible elsewhere now, but I still find it worthwhile.

I would say it depends on how serious you are and how you value your time, but if you’re the sort of person who is on a forum in January, before SuperCoach actually opens, I think you would probably get your money’s worth!

From Supercoach site tonight:
Will there be any changes to help us navigate the extra byes?
With each of the eight Opening Round teams having an early bye in rounds 2, 3, 5 and 6 (two teams per respective round), Best 18 scoring will apply for these rounds. To assist with the new challenge of managing these early bye rounds, an additional 4 trades will be added, for a total of 40 trades available for the season. Note that the usual maximum of 2 trades per round will continue to apply in these early bye rounds. Up to 5 Trade Boosts will also be available once again.

They then mention 3 trades per round for mid-season byes.
"Trading
4.7. Players traded during the season do not get their aggregate points added or subtracted to the participant’s total. Participants can replace members of their squad via the Trade page of this Web Site. Participants can make up to 40 trades per season with a maximum of 2 trades in any given round except in rounds 12, 13, 14 and 15, when participants may make a maximum of 3 trades per round. In addition, participants may activate a “trade boost”, whereby they can make one additional trade in any given round, increasing the maximum trades for the selected round up to 3 (or 4, if activated in rounds 12, 13, 14 or 15). Only one Trade Boost may be used per round and a maximum of 5 trade boosts may be used per season. For the avoidance of doubt, the use of a “trade boost” does not increase the total trades a participant may make during a season. Any ‘trade boost’ trade completed will be deducted from the 40 total overall available trades for the season. Trades must be made prior to the commencement of each player’s actual AFL match (as notified on the Web Site) in the upcoming or current round and will be subject to the participant’s SuperCoach Salary cap."

Going thru this years schedule - it could be great for those that are prepared to be bold ( or crazy lol ) - you can actually put together a decent side which leaves out all players from the first 8x ‘bye’ teams (i.e Bris/Car/Suns/Giants/Col/Swans/Melb & Rich)…………creating a mostly non- trading situation early for the first 6x rounds??

With a 1st round look-see too !!

Could save quite a few trades starting with the right mob.

Hmmm, I wonder ??

Crazy sometime works (lol) !!

Good picking......

Saves so much time having all the breakevens just there and not having to search. No time for that anymore, especially if a large chunk of the work is done on the mobile handset.

Well this is underwhelming. The KFC socks for top 1011 and tracksuit for top 10 were the pinnacle of fantasy sport prizes.
