All I'm saying is he's proven to be a top 10 mid only a couple of years ago so with his injuries last season being a reason for his drop off in score he does present value. If he doesn't work out you can get him to a gun in a couple of trades.
From memory last year busted his shoulder and came back way too early.

I am looking at it from the angle of he cannot score lower will make money and give you 105+ each week. Not expecting him to do much in preseason trial games except go through the motions.

Easy flip to a Neale or Green RD13

Plenty of trades.....

I'm not making a case against Jack Steele. If he gets through preseason without a hiccup he's probably in my starting team.
I'm just providing a sounding board.
The argument that "if he doesn't work out I can trade him" works for every player I pick. All 30 players are tradeable.
But don't pick a player you think is going to fail in the first place. Steele has to be a keeper to be a good pick. Even if he averages 105, which is more than he is priced at, he doesn't make any money because he's swimming against the magic number and he is a failed pick.

I started off keeping early bye players down to two only and from different byes. However Naicos is a premium I decided I should have in my team as apart from high ceiling scoring he has a number of early games and makes a perfect C loop. So I relented and now have three but that is it. As I mentioned in a previous post however I found you need to be careful about the Rd 15 bye because a number of the premiums in non early bye teams have that bye.
Wouldn't that be good if they had r15 bye ?

He has a very good run of games, both before and after the bye. Pre-bye he has a lot of plus matchups if we use DFS Australia 2023 as a guide, then he has a big swath of Marvel games post bye. He looked poor/average in the preseason last year. If he looks good this year I think he's an easy start given his pedigree and the fact he'll be getting + 70% CBAs every week.

Not if your team consisted of Sicily, Bont, Macrae, English, Dawson, Laird, Sinclair and Steele. And you have already upgraded to Naicos. The added trades can lessen the impact now as you can pick a Rd 0 Premo and traded them out and back in after their early bye if you really wanted to.

As a non-subscriber pleb I am very excited at the prospect of it opening up and changing it 10,000 times before R0. Is SC Plus worth it, just out of interest?
A non subscriber as well and I do not see much usefulness in it. Breakevens are accessible elsewhere for free along with historical player data. Coloured symbols indicating available or unavailable players are for those too lazy to check against the AFL or club sites. Low probability of achieving a weekly win thus the subscriber bonus doesn’t matter and no benefit is received from playing around with structures and players a month in advance. Then factor in the opportunity cost if the purchase is a regular occurrence each season.

From Supercoach site tonight:
Will there be any changes to help us navigate the extra byes?
With each of the eight Opening Round teams having an early bye in rounds 2, 3, 5 and 6 (two teams per respective round), Best 18 scoring will apply for these rounds. To assist with the new challenge of managing these early bye rounds, an additional 4 trades will be added, for a total of 40 trades available for the season. Note that the usual maximum of 2 trades per round will continue to apply in these early bye rounds. Up to 5 Trade Boosts will also be available once again.

They then mention 3 trades per round for mid-season byes.

Looks like you can now take part in 20 leagues compared to 10 in previous years.
It seems that way however my interpretation is that they have removed the distinction between leagues and groups and you can only join a total of 20 of both of these. Previously it was 10 leagues and unlimited groups (I think).
