Toying around with a Pod at F2 coz I like the structure better, atm looking at a few interesting ones in Charlie dixon/Jesse hogan/larkey type pick

Probably won’t end up on either of them, but keeping it in mind especially when we need to leave gaps in the mids to field the good rookies
Ride Jezza to 600k with an easy draw and jump off before he ends your season 🤣.

Riddle me this.

Adams was pushed out of the pies midfield as they brought in Titch last year.

Titch is still there

What does that mean for Macrae?
He may get some mid time but don't think he will be the inside role everyone is spruiking.

Adams still had 39% CBA's over the season, so at least a solid chunk of CBA's to fill. In the prelim, Crisp had 65% (Daicos 20%) and in the GF Daicos had 74% (Crisp 15%)

I would expect JDG (~80%) and Titch (~60%) are pretty much locks in that rotation as it currently stands. The variables of Pendles/Daicos/Crisp are where the CBA's for a 6th player open up (Finlay/McCreery)

It will have to be a bit of monitoring of pre-season / Round 0. If Finlay gets named, I think he'll get a solid chunk, and one of Pendles/Daicos/Crisp lose some time to a wing or backline spot etc. If Collingwood are fully fit, it does seem hard for him to slot in there for considerable mid time.

Ken thinks Soldo can play forward?
We obviously have different definitions of play
Ken also thinks winning finals isn't that important because finals are scary and its a tough competition.

Btw I heard ed Allan was impressing at Collingwood. Mcreery is looking good as a mid. Didnt hear much of a push for finlay. (Hes in my side at the moment?)

I'm struggling to see how he fits into the starting 23?
He has way nicer arms to look at than Titch, hence the puff.

I got all excited and then realised he's not a forward anymore :(

Big call to take a nearly $500k mid coming off an 88 average and hope he turns into a DEF keeper.

If you put Daicos, Sicily and Stewart as the top 3, then guys like Sinclair and Houston at the ~105+ mark, it's hard to take on another speculative keeper
You just try to jump on around first DPP upgrades as he shouldn't be too far out of reach. Actually, I doubt he'd get too far out of reach all year.

EXPERIMENT OVER: DOCKERS PUT NEW FYFE PLANS ON THE RECORD FOR 2024

The Nat Fyfe forward experiment is officially over.

In an attempt to return the dual Brownlow Medallist to his best, Fremantle will in 2024 allow Fyfe back into the midfield mix as a pure on-baller, a role he revolutionised with his bigger frame.

The 32-year-old, who has only managed 16 AFL appearances in the last two seasons, had been pushed ahead of the ball following the flourishment of Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong in recent years.

But Fyfe has never kicked more than 24 goals in a season and he’ll fit back in alongside the younger midfield duo in 2024. According to Dockers footy boss Joe Brierty, Fyfe is ready to make his mark once again.

“I won’t put a number on how many games he’ll play, he’s obviously had a few frustrating years in recent times,” Brierty told SEN Afternoons.

“All I can say is he’s had a really, really good pre-season. He’s probably had his greatest availability across the pre-season in terms of load he’s done and the footy he’s engaging with and his body feels really good.

“I think when we talk about these older players and how they feel in their own body and own mind, I spoke to Nat this morning and he’s feeling great.

“Really excited about getting in and being available for a few decent hitouts across the pre-season. Obviously we’ve refocused his role to be solely focused on midfield minutes, at times he’ll drift forward.

“I think for him, that gives him the upmost clarity and where he can focus his time, we know he’s a contested beat and a big body and he’s also educating that younger group through the midfield, which I think he’s really enjoying.”

When asked to confirm Fyfe’s position, Brierty replied: “He’s a midfielder. I think he’s pretty excited about that.”

Fyfe will play full minutes in a intraclub match on Friday.

Oh geez.... he is going to be tempting now

If he plays mid pre season and looks fit I just can’t see an argument for leaving him out at his price.

God help us all.

Zac Williams is 29, coming off a serious knee & has played 9 games in the last two seasons yet he's in everybody's team.
Risk attached to Williams too.

However the 3 years and 65k difference is significant.

Plus playing on a half-back flank versus the midfield is generally a lot less taxing on the body.

The abysmal premium options in the forward line this year, as well as the increased number of trades is also pretty significant too ;)
