That’s going to be the issue with Fyfe - huge sub risk every game
Everyone wants to pick him because if he strings together 6+ consecutive good performances, he'll make good money.

The problem is, there is definitely a chance that Freo will ramp him up slowly at the start of the year and have him build into the bye/second half of the year, which would greatly affect the reason why he was picked in the first place.
To me fyfe is hapoy back where he plays best but he has tempered his play and is being smart when he gets the ball.

He didn't burst out of stoppages but rather reads a Darcy tap and then handballs onto one of the runners usually young bursting fwd.

He is just using his footy iq and knowing his limits.
Will that stat line equate to a high enough ave to be a successful pick?
Yep I think so.
Starting at 51 .
If he does what he does tonight and adds a couple of cuddles could push well past 70 most games.
Fyfe is Life, let us all remember that!

Reminder that all these stats are fantasy related which is a complete different game when it comes to a Fyfe type player.

Can he get enough points hand balling - Yes - Fyfe cannot kick particularly under pressure, good when out in space but rarely happens. In SC it's all about disposal efficiency.

Fantasy doesn't award for hard ball gets and inside bull plays, so Fyfe would have points there.

The less trying to kick the ball and breaking packs (no points in that) are helpful to his body.

Sub risk is an issue as Shannon says, however, Freo will need to be winning. More likely they will rest him off shorter 6 day breaks, round 2 is a risk and round 9 should be a lock not to play.

Making $150k is a risk if running lower TOG but should go close on 70% TOG. The real issue is he has had his best preseason in years but is being managed, played every 2nd internal sim, main risk is just he breaks down or has an injury and starts to carry it with sub optimal outcomes. Freo never disclosed his issues last year nor Serongs.

Whats peoples thoughts on jordan clarke?
Looked really good, sc irrelevant role of hb. Got heap of the ball and they constantly looked for him.
With young in the midfield makes him more irrelevant. Coming in to his 6 season now i think he will ave 100+. Really liking his and colemans role.
Cheaper options and both could easily go 100+ as the main distributors down back.

Watch again I reckon. The Port game next week should give a better indication.

Why did Serong have to go and do that, he’ll be in every team now
I don’t think a meaningless practice match against quite possibly the weakest team in the comp should sway anybody towards Serong over the premium mid they had prior to last night.

Perhaps only if anybody was tossing up between Serong and Brayshaw then they would be leaning towards Serong due to Brayshaw spending time on the wing.

I think with Freo, supposedly fyfe, serong, bray, jackson, johnson o'meara and then even johnson etc are all supposedly playing mid, so with that in mind Serong was a riskier pick until the pre-season games where we can see who are actually playing in the middle and who is getting pushed out to the wings, so i think the opposition is irrelevant but the role is relevant. I expect Serong to end up in a lot more teams if he plays mid again in the next game.

Brennan Cox to come into the side, I did have him in one of my teams a few weeks ago and @gutsroy is observing very carefully atm. Consistency is his main issue and dropped 5ppg last year on his average. Hopefully he can increase that and have a great season.

Yep. Have dropped Freoshaw from my starting team, want to see how they all line up before committing to a Freo mid.

But we know it does right, there's a higher percentage of coaches reacting week to week

Surely there was no doubt prior to last night that Serong would spend his time in the middle this season regardless of the players around him.

I mean, Angus Brayshaw came 3rd in the Brownlow and got moved out of the midfield, Wines won a Brownlow and got dropped down the midfield pecking order, even Jack Macrae got turfed out of the midfield. So with the news of Fyfe & Young supposedly playing mid and Jackson playing part mid, and Brayshaw you would think being the number 1 mid at freo, someone had to be pushed to the wing. I think the main 4 mids will be bray, serong, fyfe & young, but that would leave very little for Jackson, JOM & Johnson.

Is it just me, or this more negative than positive? Seeing managed minutes in the first few rounds.
I guess Round 0 will be the key on how he looks.
That has always been my suspicion. Which is why I posted a question earlier in this thread on how it would affect his ownership if in Rd 0 he was the sub or played managed time and was subbed off early 3rd quarter.
