Yeah, that's what I read too. He's pretty mobile, my only concern was whether he'd be ready for round 1, going by the last practice match, he's ready.
Where do they play him? Dixon, Marshall, Lord, Finlayson and Sweet could all play forward.
Lots of questions, hopefully answered this week :)

I think only one of Sweet or Soldo plays. Finlayson has been used as ruck chop-out in the past, Dixon could take them in the F50 as well.

Didn't watch the game, Jayden Short preferred/only distributor off the HBF? 800m gained so just bombing it long most of the time = good de i'm guessing? Did he hog the kick ins?

Pity has the early bye but might be a good POD

The ruckman is suffering a plantar fasciitis issue which is impacting his heel
That's what I heard but never saw official word on that.

It's a funny injury. I know they have the best of the best treating it. I've had this in both heels.

First time it took about 8 months to recover... the second time (different foot) took about 18 months....

RICHMOND captain Toby Nankervis is facing a crucial training session on Tuesday in his bid to feature in the opening rounds of the season.

The ruckman is battling a "plantar fasciitis-heel pain" issue, which has only flared in recent weeks after a fairly smooth pre-season.

Should Nankervis not get through, it opens the door for recruit Sam Naismith to play his first game of AFL since round four, 2020, having suffered three knee reconstructions during his time at Sydney.

"I've had a bit of a niggle, I suppose a plantar fasciitis-heel pain sort of thing. I've never had any foot issues before," Nankervis told AFL.com.au.

"Sort of just managing that now, and I've got a big session tomorrow, and hopefully I can tick that off and pull up well, and push for the early part of the season.

I'm not sure (on a return date), honestly. I'm just session to session at the moment, but I've managed to do a lot of work over pre-season, and just a little bit slow in the last couple of weeks. Hopefully I can knock over tomorrow and see where we're at.

"I know big Sammy Naismith from Sydney, and he's a great person. He's added so much to our group. It'll mean the world (to him), Sam's had a lot of challenges with his body and also some personal things as well. He's a great person, he's so resilient, the way he shows up to the footy club. He played really well last week, and tomorrow, he gets another opportunity."

That's not a niggle lol. It takes a long time to heal properly. He will take a cortisone for it. It doesn't go away in a few weeks.

Plantar fasciitis is basically a case in pain management if you're not giving it complete rest. I had a mild case of it and it lingered for literally years (thankfully only really hurting after being in a relaxed state for a long time, e.g. bed or sitting, and only for the first couple of steps so it wasn't anything to write home about).

Swap Gawn to Naismith might drop 15 points per game but the extra cash would more than cover that 🤔 don't think I am that brave.

My left foot was like that... right foot not so lucky. It can get bad enough that it does have an impact. But yeah a simple cortisone can keep him going
