Yeah or does Reg have a 10 year history of constantly running bigger, stronger ruckman into the ground and cashing in late in games.
It's his 1 wood and he's very, very good with it.
Reg's kryptonite are the athletic ones, the double teamers and humidity. Proper tall ones can get him too because his leap isn't anywhere near as high as it looks and he has slightly short arms for a ruckman. (Also why he can struggle a bit at pack marking for a ruck). But his endurance for a big fella is off the charts.
Last night was the one of the more competitive looking games from him that I can recall since the year before he left the Pies. Didn't watch too much of him at Melbourne of course, but last night he was active and engaged again. It was old skool Reg and even though he's the oppo now, it was kinda touching to see from the big lug.
Maxy looked to check out a bit in the 2nd half and it's not the first time he's looked like that, especially when the whole oppo team is trying to get stuck into him. Now ok, you rarely look brilliant when you're getting beaten but a physical ruck, getting backed by off the ball physicality seems to work on Max Gawn better than on other rucks and he's going to have to respond to that because if you shut down Maxy, you go a long way to beating Melbourne.
