Still not sold on Heeney after last night. Has a history of good scores in the first round, then not following up. I know we have 40 trades this season, but the return of Adams, Mills, and Parker will squeeze Heeney. Also, you will have 3 premiums missing in that bye round. Think the most you can have is 2.

Also, Sanders for me should replace Windsor. Lastly, think you can save some $$ in the forward line and downgrade Curnow to a Fyfe and use the $$ to upgrade a rookie in the Defense/Midfield where you're a bit lean.
Thanks mate. Have given me a lot to consider!

Start by ditching May, Wilmont, Duryea, Sheldrick, McInnerney, Ginnivan, Cumberland, F Macrae, Darcy, K Brown, mate.
Some better options include Hustwaite, J Clark, Wilson, Naismith and Sexton for rookies.
Some mid priced options might be, Grundy, Xerri, Gawn in ruck. J Jordan, Billings & Fisher up forward.
Sheezel, Young, Yeo, Coleman down back. Crouch, Wines, Martin, Bonner as mids

I would prioritise getting in Fisher, Jordan and Sexton up forward, Wilson on bench and then at least Young/Sheezel down back .

All the best for 2024 (y)
Thanks for your feedback.
Interested in your comments on Wilmot v Coleman.
Last year Coleman played 20 games, averaged 71.4 for a total of 1427 points. Season rank 212nd. His current price is $398,800
Last year, Wilmot played 23 games, averaged 71.1 for a total of 1635 points. Season rank 153rd. Current price is $397,300
Their recent stats look pretty line-ball so interested in why you think Wilmot should be ditched for Coleman

Looks a little mid pricey/risky. Maybe too many speculative picks. Coleman, Gulden, Gawn early bye players. Set and forget rucks. Might be overloaded with defenders after first dpp changes. Not sold on Yeo, but unsure where to spend the dough? Might be missing a couple big hitters and expensive rooks. Anyway...

Amon to Newcombe really is obvious to me (as a Hawks man). If you want a mid pricer for backline, I would also go Yeo to Wanganeen

Thoughts? Circled players are negotiable.
I'm thinking Wanganeen can close the gap on Houston. Martin to a premo like Serong. Scarred by Heeney so going Jackson but not sold.

If I turn Jackson into rookie or other I can upgrade few players like Wanganeen and Martin.

I’m a bit skeptical of the Laird forward time idea as well.

He’s been elite since 2015, and in the middle since 2020, and has one season of >3 goals. Doesn’t seem a natural move to me.
He's an absolutely terrible shot for goal too. The idea they use their best centre square mid as a forward is nothing short of ridiculous.

Coleman ACL so is now out of your equation.
I just thought Coleman is the type of guy all the other players want to give the ball too. Those guys with kick outs or heavy intercept markers are the kind of backline players SC'ers want because they rack up the most points.

Very frustrating atm. Have gone from 10 premiums to 12, and can't seem to find a way back

Is there enough value? Can we utilise players like Flanders, Rankine, and Martin as high price mid-pricers with the extra trades?

Even with a poor role I'd like to see a decent ceiling and Rankine hasn't shown that. Preseason games are very uncontested.

Thanks for the feedback. Thought he had been playing more midfield, but I will check. It was Rankine or Jackson, but I am just a little nervous re Jackson even though Shrek is out for a while.

Looks like he will get some midfield time and improve and I'm not suggesting he can't take a big jump, but there isn't a lot of evidence or a significant enough change in role. It would be a leap of faith.

Just returned from holidays , so trying to speed read 1000+ pages

DAICOS * , HOUSTON , SHEEZEL , YOUNG , Williams , Burgoyne / Gibcus , Coffield

BONT , BRAYSHAW , ROZEE , N MARTIN (?) , Fyfe * , McKercher , Sanders , Hustwaite / Roberts , Clark , Sharp

DARCY , GAWN / Naismith

J CAMERON , Fisher , Jordon * , Reid * , Windsor * , Sexton / Wilson * , Cadman

$ 124,700.00 in the Bank for Round 1 rookie selection corrections

11-4-7 so probably need to use 25-30 trades to upgrade the midfielders and onfield rookies

Haven't seen any mention of Jezza at all so maybe I have completely missed something

Rip it apart
Wait for selection news but hopefully this it , 9 changes , no Jezza

$ 10,300.00 in the Bank so very little wriggle room

HOUSTON , SHEEZEL , YOUNG , Williams , Gibcus , Howes / Reid , Phillips (if named)

BONT , #35 * , FLANDERS * , MARTIN , CROUCH , Reid * , McKercher , Sanders / Hustwaite , Roberts , Wilson *

ENGLISH , REG / Naismith

JACKSON * , HEENEY , Fisher , Fyfe * , JordOn * Sexton / Burgess (if named) , Cadman

I don't follow pre season training reports , watch pre season matches or get all the matches on FTA each round so a big thank you to those who have provided insights/reports etc on games/ players/teams

Hopefully this year I can be competitive.

Time for some IPL research (starts March 22 , for those interested in playing IPL RDT)
