This is where I'm sitting after Round 0. Really like the setup, but having 7 early bye premiums is probably too much.
Maybe, in round 3 you'll have 10 premos, 2 Mp's and 9 rookies on the field with the 3 lowest to drop off, might be a little light but not too bad. In round 5 you'll have 10 premos, 2 MP's and 10 rookies on the field with the 4 lowest to drop off so pretty much the same make up as round 3. Looks like you're fine on the other 2 early byes

This is my current team is there anywhere that i should look to improve? View attachment 69050
Your team looks fine mate. Can't complain about any of it. You may need to reconsider Naismith next week if he isn't selected so I'd make a contingency plan there, but otherwise looks solid. Same with a few other rookies like Sharp & Simpson re the contingency plan.

Up to 14 potential keepers but off.set by copping it during the early byes and the keepers potentially ending up at the lower echelon at the business end of the season.
Team looks great on paper, but myself personally, every time I've cheaped out on premiums to squeeze that extra keeper in, it's never gone well for me. Usually get stuck with these almost-keepers that don't really live up to the hype and eventually need to traded. Having Steele/Martin instead of Bont, for instance.. But if all these speculative picks hit it looks like a very good team.

I really like this team. It's about 4 players onfield different to me, (with a totally different structure 11 keepers and Jordon, Fyfe, Wardlaw, types that you've eschewed). This is very, very neat.

Now strongly considering even more of a G&R approach to this season as we build our teams for round one…
Initially my forward line was full of mid pricers but now considering getting to 13 premiums ( all free of byes with exception of Naicos, Grundy and Gawn) to maximise points….
Round zero seems to have seen an increase in ownership for the Green, Heeney, Miller types….
Things to ponder….

Heeney in the major change in RD0 since the sub $300k forward line looks a bit shaky with Billings and Lohmann starting as subs, D’Ambrosio dropped down to Howes after his performance on Thursday. Currently playing around with structures involving both Berry and Lyons as starters.

Few similarities to your side @Connoisseur and we haven't really divulged anything this preseason on where our sides have been.

That's where I'm at. The $10K in the bank keeping Bonner open from Fyfe/Jordon.

Been struggling with D4. Not confident enough to go with someone further at the rookie end of the spectrum.
Whitfield in before last night. From R7 onwards last year he played 16 games for a flat 100 average. He played 21 games last year. That's been a bit of his problem in the past too, staying fit, but last years numbers were good in that regard. Plays for a good side. The byes is a downside, but as all bye players do, he offers the ability to loop rookies.

first year back playing supercoach in a while. I switched out hayden young, lazarro and duursma for stewart, fyfe and brown. Not sure if I've gone too top heavy? removed a few 180k rookies to fit another premium in. Also, felt like a waste having lazarro/duursma on the bench as I want to start sexton on the field

Am I losing out on good money making rookies?

thoughts?

Team before the Preseason week and R0 games

Made a few changes.

Gawn replaced Darcy with Naismith put in at R3.
Flanders moved down to Fisher. Fyfe replaced with Jordon and Harmes went down to facilitate the beefing up of my midfield.

LDU becomes Bontempelli and Martin becomes Liberatore. I feel these two have the best role of the $620k+ that isn't as likely to be eaten up by new rotations.

Not sold on being in the 22 but Roberts has the better role and scoring potential over Lazzaro for onfield duties and lastly a few rookie bench changes with Thomas and Dempsey coming in.

A mix of both teams with a few more R0 additions.

Paying up for a bit more in my rookies and lower priced MP's.

Coffield > Howes
Liberatore > Flanders
Gawn > Grundy
Sharp > Lyons
Dempsey > Lazzaro
Laurie > Berry
Billings > Harmes
Naismith > Livingstone

Daicos, Miller, Grundy and Flanders the four "keepers" on byes.

Potential for the first 6 rounds:
1: Play as is onfield
2: Loop Reid/Phillips R2 in defence for Williams and Lazzaro/Roberts/Clark for Lyons.
3: Roberts/Clark for Miller and play Lazzaro + Wilson for Flanders and Sexton.
4: Play as is with the hopefully the right rookies.
5: Loop D5/6 for Daicos, Roberts can be useful for looping M8, Grundy DNP and Wilson/Lazzaro for Jordon.
6: Only Howes on bye at this stage

Can't see Lyons staying in the Lions best 22 for long. Was very surprised he wasn't the sub last game. Last year Brisbane didn't want to play him along with Neale and Dunkley because it made their midfield to slow. Robertson is almost ready to come in and young Tunstill is also waiting for an opportunity.
