Like most I feel like i'm going in circles. Think my team was probably stronger a few weeks ago so I might be moving back through some screenshots to find it.
Is Flanders a must? Maybe N Martin is all hype and he might become Flanders- but also tempted to grab him post bye with whoever of Martin/ Wines is a fail or if Shrek looks like he's coming back early.

Firstly, get Sexton on the field :p

Next drop Sweet - clearly behind Soldo. Livingstone is your best ruck/fwd 102K option to pair with Jackson/ Capt loophole.

Not sold on Burgess but as a crow man you would know more.

Dean has big JS issues with Howe due back soon, not sure on Murphy's status. Maybe Phillips as a cheaper option?

Money saved on going Sweet > Livingstone might allow Burgess > Lazzaro for example who has DP/ gives further flexibility in navigating the byes & giving more cover for injuries.
Cheers mate thanks, I’ll check out your suggestions.

Hi MW, I would actually omit Stewart and replace him with Gibcus, could average you 60 to 80 until you punt him.
This would enable you to strengthen your mid and or fwd line with an extra premo, and sure up your rookies like Sharp and Khamis who might not start.
Wines could be a flaky selection, time will tell but might be better to not go there.

Its OK but I don't think you have enough cash gen. Short pick I'm not sold on because he has one of the league's worst draws for his role based on late season 2023 numbers, he also had 3 soft tissue injuries last year. Obviously its a fantastic role and he's underpriced based on that in a vacuum.

A few other picks I would quibble with but we all have different assessments/opinions on players.

Is fine in terms of numbers of double bye players.

Good luck for the season. (y)
Where can I find these numbers please?

Yeh I've played around with dropping a defensive premo -but I think those I have are a lock for top 8. Whereas the midfield I'm a little unsure and would prefer the likes of Green and Gulden but the early bye has pushed me to try to avoid at this stage.
But I do think that the midfield rookies will outscore defensive rookies given most of them are key position players. So I don't mind going for more on field rookies there.
I do want to get Gibcus in but struggling with where / how to fit him. Ideally Philips out, Gibcus in but would need the funds to do it.

I can see Reidy playing a bit with the longer timeframe.
Do you think Reidy plays, or will they give Patrick Voss a go?
Played preseason games and did ok - think they want a more dedicated FWD rather than a subpar backup ruckman in Reidy? Think Jackson would see 70% + of ruck time - just need someone to chop out?

I can see them going Jackson R1 with Taberner to start. Treacy will be the backup and if it were a longer timeframe on Darcy then I'd back in Reidy to play a few as R1.

I disagree, but we're both guessing.
Just can't see a world where Jackson who is/was tipped to be one of the best ruckman in the comp one day wouldn't keep the R1 duties until Darcy is back.

They have signed Darcy long term so I think they were settling in Jackson being the forward. Coaching/selection may want him to stay there as it could set him back on his forward development the longer he has to ruck.

The sports scientists are adamant Jacksons athletic profile is developing like a mid. Can play anywhere like Pavlich or Goodes. Jackson's position won't be about Jackson but who else is in the team. But even if he is mostly forward he won't be stuck. He'll play more like a Nick Riewoldt.

Trying to be a little different with a few extra mid priced players and 2 bargain based players.

Lots of injury prone players, but I guess that's why they're cheap.

Any players with low JS?

Does Sexton need to be on the field? Know nothing about him (or AFL for that matter).

Feels like there's so many great options this season, that it's truly a coin toss on who to pick.

40k in the bank. unsure on Wines and F8/M11 (wilson can move to facilitate the best rookie) and would love suggestions there. Otherwise I'm hopefully looking at 5/6 keeper defenders and 4/6 keepers forwards already, which is a bit interesting with just 2.5/8 in the midfield, shall see how it pans out!

DFS Australia. You can also YouTube Wiz Supercoach who did three videos breaking down the best/worst draws for teams by position. That in particular is a great resource as he's done the legwork for us looking at wings, designated kickers, key forwards, general forwards etc and it's visual, very easy to understand. I highly recommend it.

IMO they won't have any issues playing Jackson in the ruck. That was part of the reason they got him. Also why they originally got Lobb but Jackson is much more versatile. I would not be surprised to see Jackson in the mids with Darcy rucking at some point this season. Freo have Amiss, Treacy and Taberner up forward if they want while Jackson rucks.
