Experimenting with a line-up including both Flanders and Heeney.
Requires E Phillips in DEF, sacrificing Miller in MID, Gibcus down to E Phillips in DEF, no Harley Reid, speculating on J Carroll.
Pretty fragile construct.

Harley Reid over Lazzaro at F5, rest looks solid.

How did you get that colour scheme btw?

I feel like you’re making too many rookie sacrifices for what to me looks like Wines over a Fyfe/Berry/Lyons type.
Did you really like Wines before you started or is he the best you could get with the cash you had left over?

Final squad - Pre teams drop.

Backline has suffered with Kiddy's injury, and to find funds to add Jackson and Flanders into the forwards.

Happy with the Short selection. Watched him carefully for 3 games and seems to have the license again in the backline, taking kick in's and doing whatever he wants. Think he's actually ok value at 550k.

Biggest surprise in the midfield is Rowell. Had him in my team for awhile last season and he just seemed to plod along between plays. This year he looks to have dropped a few kilo's and is charging to the packs going in and under.
Round 3 looks my only issue but I'm sure Roberts and Wilson will ton up that week. :)

Forward line looks so much stronger now with the addition of Jackson and Flanders.

Its OK but I don't think you have enough cash gen. Short pick I'm not sold on because he has one of the league's worst draws for his role based on late season 2023 numbers, he also had 3 soft tissue injuries last year. Obviously its a fantastic role and he's underpriced based on that in a vacuum.

A few other picks I would quibble with but we all have different assessments/opinions on players.

Is fine in terms of numbers of double bye players.

Good luck for the season. (y)

I like this team. Short is a great pic.
Rowell was an absolute monster the other night.
Great man

At least you won't have to endure the disappointment of your speculative midpricers not performing up to snuff, what will you do if Reid and or McKercher start like a house on fire?, do you have some money to bring them in? Nice Job, 14 potential keepers there.

I think you have 1 premium mid too many - really think McKercher & Reid are must have cash cows, will make plenty of good money early.

This side I can see starting well but then stalling through lack of cash gen missing the likes of Reid/McKercher

Owens is a very nice POD btw, love the way he goes about it.

I don't see Reid or McKercher averaging above 80

Could be wrong but it's a risk I'm running with

Any thoughts appreciated! Getting close to start time!

Firstly, get Sexton on the field :p

Next drop Sweet - clearly behind Soldo. Livingstone is your best ruck/fwd 102K option to pair with Jackson/ Capt loophole.

Not sold on Burgess but as a crow man you would know more.

Dean has big JS issues with Howe due back soon, not sure on Murphy's status. Maybe Phillips as a cheaper option?

Money saved on going Sweet > Livingstone might allow Burgess > Lazzaro for example who has DP/ gives further flexibility in navigating the byes & giving more cover for injuries.

FD @ R3, Lazzaro to H. Reid?

Cheers all:
Colour scheme is Edge on Android, dark mode. Mangled as 😂
I genuinely think Wines will go well for what it is worth.
Will chabge again anyway now, Darcy out 6-8 makes L Jackson viable as F1 and will not go Flanders / Heeney.
