Strategy 2024: Round 4 Trades

This supercoach season really isn't going to plan. Can I change my side to the one that wasn't heavy on defender rookies and had ryan, gawn and powell? It looks like I will need to trade out two of coffield, hore and gibcus plus billings.

Boost scenario could be the obvious - Coffield to Draper.
However Short is a huge issue. Do I rip the band-aid off and go with a straight swap to Jordan Clark or NWM ?
Unsure on this.

It’s become a bit like that hasn’t it. I feel like Steele/Touk probably make more sense at a good chunk cheaper but cant put a price on closing off a pod like Green.

how is thomas's scoring +role tho? the other reason i was thinking of trading dempsey is because id be a lot happier starting him over harley reid at F6

Nah man, only play was to start Harvey Thomas. He's had his best games in the schedule. Very good talent but role just isn't there for consistent SC scores.

I think Dempsey is one you can go late on.

Has shown he can score 85+ without goals and looks to be decent on field.

He may not make $150k, but it's hard not seeing him hit $350k+ from here.

With Hore out now I'm second guessing my trades and thinking I might be better to restructure a little to sure up the defenders line. Not sexy but with Hore, Reid still and Howes at D6/7/8 and Williams, Mass and Bramble filling D3/4/5 I'm a tad nervous.

With Hore now joining the long line of defender rookies on the sidelines, I cast my mind back about a month before Rd0 and remember a coach putting up a team in RMT with a 5 deep defence, I really hope he went through with it because he’d be well ahead of the pack right now as we’re all putting out spot fires.

I started a 5 premium defence and it didn't help me - mainly because 2 of them were Short & Hayden Young!

I'm way back in the field, sitting at just under 50,000 (but after R1 I was at 99,000 - so it could be worse)
I have been trading to build a kitty and have $364K at the moment.
The plan when I got here was to upgrade Jordon to Green, which I obviously can achieve, but I'm starting to change my thinking.
I might just adopt the Perry Como strategy and go for a pocketful of fallen stars.
That will mean boosting again.. if I go
Owens -> Max King
T. Berry - > S. Darcy
Howes -> Bramble
I'll have a bank of nearly $406K next week.
Thats when the long string of IFS kicks in..
Footywire has Dawson dropping to about $560, so hoping he doesn’t go berserk and that Jordon goes well against WCE… so that will be the first star..⭐️
If Maguiness can restrict Daicos, I might then just about be able to get him for Fyfe the week after.⭐️
Then I’ll see if there‘s a way to reach Oliver..⭐️ 😍

I can't see Dempsey being dropped, I see him in the same boat as Roberts and McKercher. If he makes another 150k is it worth it after his price rise?

Yes that’s always the killer by going deep in a certain line-you’ve got to get them right to start with or you’ll be sideways trading, having said that though you’ve probably saved trsdes by not having Gibcus, Reid, Coff, McDonald and now Hore.?

With the Wines news I'm seriously thinking of flicking him to Willem Drew, has a BE 18 and is doing the job that I started Wines for, has 2 big 100's to cycle through and is only 1% owned. Have a feeling that a POD like this could revert back to 80's which would screw the show

Definitely not, surely you have others that could be moved on instead. Ryan and Green have a few tougher games to come, Brisbane's fixture really opens up this week after their bye so Dunkley or Neale could be a play if you're struggling for funds.

Maybe I'll look at something similar and just watch Howes score first. Means I'd need to trade Reid over Hore which might be more logical anyway. Interesting.
