Interesting lots of discussion (and rightly so) about the upcoming DPP additions after Round 6 for the likes of McKercher , Sanders , Sexton etc etc but if we don't get viable M & F bubble boys appearing soon it might be all academic in trying to move on D7 & D8.

I gather a lot of teams have a 3 premium defence + D'Ambrosio & Williams so moving McKercher , Sanders into defence onfield probably means M9 or F7 then comes onfield , are they outscoring D6 significantly enough in any case or do we just leave McKercher & Sanders in the mids until we upgrade them.

Certainly need some newbies appearing this round and next and then scoring well enough to put their hands up to be traded in

Legend. Team before trades for context;

Don't have an obvious trade out for Darcy unfortunately. Enough cash for Fisher straight to Steele in one move, but 2k shy of pairing with a Coffield > Brown hence the Wilson out. Could look to move off an LDU type instead (Touk or Whitfield via Daicos to mids).

If you want to be very aggressive, you could go :-

Fisher/Jordon (Adams back I think hurts him, BE 44, bye the following week)/ Reid >

Steele (Flanders fwd), McKay 467K, Darcy

You have 4 swans with their bye coming up so maybe offloading Jordon now is the play.

McKay (467K) has gone 130, 112 and 137 and is heading towards $500k fast. Getting ruck time along with now over his goal kicking issues.

You would need to play 1 of Sexton/Cadman/ Darcy though on field at F6 though.

Just an idea ;)

Yeah it's the bird on the hand of Draper/Brown vs the gamble on any forward/mid or ruck rookies being better, hey?

I'm taking the gamble. Unless Howes gets injured, he should have a spot most if not all weeks up to the main by rounds. Reid should be back in 3 weeks. I therefore only need to fix Gibcus and with all the new DPPs being mooted will only need to find one rookie elsewhere that can outscore a couple of young KPD rookies.

Knowing me, I've got it wrong but I'll take the chance anyway

An option could be:
Out: Z Fisher, J Jordon and N Coffield
In: S Darcy, O Dempsey, Def premium (Houston/Ryan/Whitfield/etc)
if you wish to move Howes to the bench

Not much. You're in pretty good shape :)

Does Bramble appeal? You can go straight to him from Coffield.

If you want to ditch Fisher, you could even go Fisher to Darcy and Coffield to the back premo of your choice. It puts Howes on the bench.

Fisher to Darcy could get you Sexton or Harley Reid to any midfielder you want too. Or you could just bank the cash. There's a chance that Fisher outscores Darcy though so you'd be losing out if you don't put that money to productive use under those conditions.

Bramble doesn't appeal unfortunately, prefer moving in a premium mid and probably downgrading a midpricer for a rookie. Problem is I don't particularly feel the need to trade anyone out nor trade any rookies in (Premium trade ins is the only easy part)

I will try Brown and see if he works out.

Howes was heading towards some nice cash to his Bye before that 26.

Will leave me Brown & Howes @ D6/7 and Reid @ D8 , just need to wait and see if and when some new rookie options appear.

H Reid (needs a spike score) , Wilson (stalled) , Clark (needs a spike score)

Lost where I wrote down Footywire's projections for Campbell & Sexton.

Just need to be patient I guess and let them moo as much as possible before downgrading.

Apart from the big scores, what is the motivation for Heeney when he has the bye next week? How many Syd/Coll premiums do you have?

This is the dilemma I am facing atm, as I also don't have Heeney. Weighing up, whether I chase him, or accept I missed him.
We'll go down together. I'm hoping WCE can hold him down to 120 this week, then I make up ground in his bye, before I can grab him for a rookie that needs to be cashed out.

Why Brown and not Draper?
I thought Fremantle had more returning players that could affect Draper than Richmond had that could affect Brown , might be wrong.

Brown 63 , 60 v Draper 35 , 68

$ 30,300.00 difference in starting price though and Richmond with a Round 6 Bye probably need to be taken into account as well.

Freo only realy have Chapman and Worner coming back in the short term that may impact.
Both play smaller and are unlikely to impact Draper
IMO Cox (10-12 weeks) and O Mc (TBC) are the only likely ones to push Draper out.

I don't see enough of Fremantle , so probably shouldn't comment on their defensive setup.

Just looked up the heights of their players , they are all lacking apart from Draper & Moose.

Would've backed money that Ryan was more than 186.

Draper might well be a better option than Brown.

He’s averaging about 10% ruck contests, up from 3-4% last year.

But I would say it’s mainly he’s kicking accurately this season.

Being up around the ball more does help the floor a little, but his HO win rate still very low so just a few extra disposals here and there.
He is significantly fitter this season which has helped him to get around the ground a lot more. Think this has helped the confidence when goalkicking as he’s able to help out a lot more through the middle.

Took a couple of intercept marks on the wing last week in succession which wouldn’t have happened last season.

The flip side is that he is very much a confidence player. If things start to go wrong a little, his scoring could be adversely affected.

Is Elijah Hollands (275k MID) a decent chance on the bubble next week?

I have the option to reach Green this week, closing off a negative POD and securing my 5th Mid premo.

1712123531630.png

Or I could take Flanders, leaving me 130K to upgrade Campbell or Sexton next week to Hollands, who I think is capable of getting to 400+k. Not liking the lack of viable rookies at the moment.

Green is tipped to get up over 700k in a real hurry but that is based partially on him scoring 160 this week which is never something you'd predict. Flanders is likely to move away from me at around about 25k per week for the next month if I don't pick him up now.

I want to have both Green and Flanders in my final team

105k+ on top of his starting price. Do you really want to pay what could be top dollar for him?

That said, he scored 150 against WC last time. I’m going to need a lot of alcohol before that game I think.

No, I don't want to pay that much. He's already cost me approx. 150 points in 3 rounds from the picks that I have had. Just hoping he gets knocked out in the first 5 minutes :censored: That's the only way his price will fall...
