Team before trades this week.
A bit stumped as I would like to get Flanders back to the forward line and get Darcy in if selected. Not sure my best way to do this.
Any ideas appreciated? 36k in the kitty.

Flanders swap with H.Reid is the obvious movement to get him to forwards.

Then you’d probably have to sell Sexton or Burgess, all the other guys have too much point scoring value/cash gen potential.

yep, not too keen on letting Sexton or Burgess go just yet, Fyfe/Reid an option to move on too i guess.

I've got him too. I went to the Blues vs North game last week and was shocked as to how disinterested he seemed at times to actually search for and hunt the ball. Massive contrast to the supercoach gold of players like Serong and Green who never stop trying to rack it up. Still going to keep him and hope last week was an aberration but it was just really noticeable in person and has me worried.
100% agree. I am amazed at how he can rack it up, but simultaneously just labour around the ground aimlessly, putting no effort into the contest and only laying two tackles.

I'm leaning towards holding, but another sub 100 score will seriously hurt and I'm wondering if I just aim to avoid that and move to Green now.

would you recommend just to go jordan to darcy, coffield to brown and stash some cash away for upgrades next week?
Ahh I see what you mean with the defence now with three rookies out. I think I would grab Brown now and hold out for McKercher/Roberts when they get DPP. Bramble could still make another 100k though, hadn't really looked at him previously, but swapping midpricers this late rubs me the wrong way.

I guess holding to see what teams look like will help. Might make the decision easier.

Your main issue is if you want both Flanders and Darcy in your forward line. If you can hold off throwing Flanders across you can probably do the Fyfe/Reid trade for Darcy.

Still heavily in the Steele vs Miller mindset but a new contender has snuck in.. Anderson at an ultra low 3% ownership and could well hit a nice season average. Feels a little like chasing a pod for the sake of it, but does seem like he’s the under appreciated GC player that’s getting lost behind Miller/Flanders and even Rowell.

LDU owner here too.

I mentioned it earlier in this thread that I was planning on trading him for Green this week but it relied on Hore getting named. So much for that!

So I’m forced to hold. However if anybody is in the position to do the LDU to Green/Serong trade I would actually pull the trigger. I feel as though Green and Serong will be within the top handful of mids this season while at this stage, it feels as though LDU will not. This feels like the last chance to do this move as each player would have moved to far in the differing directions following this coming round.

I really appreciate the detailed and lengthy reply this gives me something to think about and make some alterations to my team
You’re welcome - hopefully it gives you some principles to keep in mind. If you pay attention to the advice offered by others here and ask questions when in doubt, you should be in good hands!

I thought Fremantle had more returning players that could affect Draper than Richmond had that could affect Brown , might be wrong.

Brown 63 , 60 v Draper 35 , 68

$ 30,300.00 difference in starting price though and Richmond with a Round 6 Bye probably need to be taken into account as well.
Draper had 43 AF to 68 SC which worries me a little. Might be more typically a 40-50 SC guy

Windy > Whitfield
Billings > Darcy

I got Windy in last week so very flat about the suspension, was planning on using him as my ticket to a early upgrade to Daicos, backline is grim so I'll settle for the Whitfield upgrade now.
Leaves me with 190k in the bank.

Still deciding if I should use a boost to move HReid along for Powell.
Think Reid still has plenty of money to make, but also think the future fwd line prospects are pretty dire, and it's the last chance to get Powell at a lowish price.

Hey team, checking in for the season!

I had my poorest start to a season ever, the big culprits were Dawson, Libba, Young and Martin. Rank 81k after round 2.

I traded Martin unfortunately, but I held Young. Many traded both, so I'll call it a draw. Think Young can be an acceptable D6, Martin I'm more skeptical on.

Finally had a good week in round 3 (2010), and jumped up to 36k.

I'm holding both Dawson and Libba, really hoping this is the week that duo finally clicks.

My trades this week are a simple 2 midpricers into a rookie and keeper. Billings out for Darcy (if named) and Jordon (maybe a week early but I've made peace with it) to Touk! Wish I started him but I feel much more confident in the pick after watching him in his first 3 games.

On average it probably works out but why trade LDU to Serong who is playing Carlton this week where he’ll probably get similar attention as to what LDU did. Green also plays Carlton in two weeks. I’m sure they’ll handle it better but I couldn’t do that to myself.

As an owner I’ve got just got to back him in and stick it out, got bigger issues to sort out.

I’ll be shocked if Serong and/or Green produce something as horrible as what LDU produced against Carlton. Each might be less prolific as usual against Carlton but I’m expecting a 3 digit score for each or perhaps just under. 67 though? Please….

Just do what I do now and not look at your ranking. Haven't checked mine this year yet.

Just with LDU he does have a history of throwing in a poor game, his scores are either really high or low, not much in the middle.
In his 14 games last year he had
8/14 games went 122+
2/14 games under 75
Only 2/14 games did he have a score between 95 and 121

I think if you picked him you have to ride the waves.

Kinda hoping Sexton is dropped so I can trigger the below semi guilt-free. Would be the first boost of the season. Feels very luxurious but team looks strong afterwards.

Sexton > Darcy
Fisher > Steele
LDU > Green

You’d think the smaller ground helps a guy like LDU this weekend but Green is the one guy I’d just love to have. Absolute monster.

Would you treat Dawson the same at LDU?

Green is giving GAJ vibes. Spewing I went LDU I stead of Green type, because of the byes. Green probably has more points than LDU despite one less game. Just riding out LDU now to the bitter end. Well hopefully a glorious recovery.

Still chasing cash at this time of year, so 99% settled on
Gibcus - Draper
Coffield - Darcy
Fisher - King

Very nice trades 👏

Green looks a top 3 mid on average this year
