Really torn on the JHF trade in. If he gets the FWD status probably means he’ll have spent a fair chuck forward resulting in lower scores.

Flipside if he scores well means he played predominantly MID doesn’t get the FWD status…

grundy mckercher massimo for gawn martin clohesy (need to trade off the 2 rookies early to make the money work)

or keep it simple and go

grundy hore to gawn clohesy (saving the boost(have 3))

Second option for mine, although don't love going Gawn prior to his bye.

A bit lost on what to do this week and my trades so far this season have been mostly good but have also had some absolute stinkers.

Round 2: Gibcus to D'Ambrosio (√), Lazzaro to Cadman (√), Fisher to Heeney (√)
Round 3: Short to Sheezel (√), Martin to Serong (X), Bonner to Carrol (X); missed Sharp and Dempsey, luckily held Young
Round 4: Fyfe to Powell (X), Sexton to Darcy (√); held Jordon, faded Brown

Considering this week:
  • Coffield to Clohesy; happy to go early on Clohesy, probably for Coffield to be able to field 6 defenders but could do Howes.
  • Don't know what to do with my second trade, would like to move on Jordon but don't feel great about also going early on Comben. Considering Lohmann if he avoids the green vest this week.
  • Already used 2 boosts, but not completely opposed to using a third if it allows for a creative solution
As a Hawks supporter I think Meek is a trap given the run of opponents we have coming up, and I'm comfortable holding Grundy given his scoring history as a solo ruck.

Team is as below, would love to hear any thoughts.

You could go Jordon to Clohesy via Wilson and Daicos DPP, which gives you just under $270k to spend on an upgrade or to hold for next week.

Congrats on the start so far! The next 2 rounds will probably bunch a little with popular premiums on the bye, so I would probably say identify where you want your team for round 7 (back to best 22) and work backwards from there.
The difference between Meek and a rookie is probably less over this next 2 rounds and what probably stood out to be across rounds 2 & 3 is it’s the high ceiling premiums that made the most difference.

It’s for that reason I’m trying to work out if I have a good way to get Grundy up to English rather than down to Meek. But if there is no pathway that makes sense, I’m probably looking at Meek as my next option and then 3rd is looking at some of the <$550k players I could possibly 1 trade Grundy too.

Good luck whichever way you go!
Thank you! Appreciate the words and thoughts. I'm starting to cool a bit on Meek, but now wondering if I go Grundy to Steele directly with a bit of DPP magic. There's also heaps of analysis about previous winners trades and comments so I can review all of that as well - this forum is amazing

You've answered your own question.
I wouldn't mind picking him as a stepping stone but I just can't make it work because I have a full midfield and it would mean 2 of McKercher, Sanders and Reid are on the bench and the next 2 rounds are best 18 anyway. I'm better off chasing someone with a higher ceiling.

Perhaps give it one more week?

We’ll have a more accurate idea as to whether he’s likely to get mid/fwd status after this weekend’s match and he’ll still be affordable at under 500k.

How do people feel about trading LDU for Steele this week. Only 20k difference between the two but that will change exponentially soon.

LDU doesn't look interested so far this season, Steele looks amazing...

Cooled off on trading Grundy to Meek. However after Howes, jordan to clohsey trades I can afford a rookie to meek for 2 weeks to cover grawndy over 2 weeks and then pocket any meek profits just incase. Still feel more data on Meek is needed

More data on Meek will miss his biggest price rise which seems to be the point.

Personally I’ve got bigger fish to fry than LDU. Can see the merit in trading him out but every chance he turns it around. Our draw starts to get a bit easier too.

Don’t mind it.
