At what stage then does he become relevant? The Dees have been nursing him whilst he has the hand issue and possibly building match fitness as well. He's going to have 2 weeks until his next game which is against the Tigers and with the way they've been going it's a perfect opportunity to get back into some form.

I agree he's been a spud thus far and there's probably more going on behind the scenes than what we know (we can surmise though) but I'm not going to disregard him especially if he shows some signs that he's back and performing in his preferred role. I'll give him 2 games of showing signs then I'll hop on board.
He becomes relevant to me when he starts to show his premium scoring. I haven't disregarded him, he's just not on my radar at the moment because he hasn't shown any form to date.

I won't be pre-empting a return to form, I want to see it.

Ended up settling on
1. McKercher -> Graham
2. Dempsey -> Nyuon
3. Sanders -> Merrett

A 109 from a 665k guy isnt the best result especially after seeing him shifted forward with the slightest bit of attention. Other 2 options i considered the most were Rowell and Walsh. Paid up for Merrett for a safe 110 avg and for someone who doesnt miss many games. Hopefully havent overpaid too much with some premium value options coming through.

I made a shocker of a decision last week bringing in Baker. I really don't know what I was thinking. His DPP will be handy with others getting Def/Fwd DPP - but it was just the wrong decision last week especially given his bye*. Probably it was just a bad decision.

It did win me a couple of H2H games, but it's painted me into a corner this week... I'll wear it and also accept that I'm time poor for footy and SC this year.

So far I've done:

McKercher/Sanders out; Clohsey/Graham.

If Carroll is sub I'll bring Mckercher back in. If McKercher is sub... well I'll have to look into that.

408k in the bank. Have only used one boost.

Has meant throwing Daicos in the mids for now - so I'll eventually have to reopen that link, which shouldn't be too tricky with Martin et al getting Def/Mid status next week.

Unsure what to do otherwise. Do I upgrade this week (Walsh a week early and off an injury - Green was in my team all preseason and switched him out; or look at Comben... Garcia is obviously a target next week with a couple of others.

Either of Cadman/Carrol could and should probably go.

I've looked over it and over looked it - and after last week I think I need other sets of eyes on the situation.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I would perhaps hold trades, but otherwise perhaps if Carroll is a sub you could trade him to Rowell? Brown to Young?

Carrol to Comben only makes 15k but will start the cash gen this week with Comben likely to increase $69k if he scores a 70…
Can flip him by moving Reid to the mids and getting one of Sharp or Graham off field…
Comben can then be flipped back in defense next week once DPP commences to sure up the D5 spot…

Carrol as sub candidate and 46 breakeven will weaken your bench strength….
Whilst only saving $15k from the trade long term your team is stronger and cash 💰 will be made faster via Comben…

If time poor this season, may I recommend posting your side with remaining salary, boosts, trades, etc after lockout lifts at the start of the round or within those first few days rather than mid round. Working smarter not harder and those providing assistance may converge on the same thought you had or raise a few alternatives you can weigh up prior to team announcements rather than creating further time pressures.

I would start using those boosts before any possible advantage is lost. Midfield looks like it needs the upgrade the most considering Daicos and Martin can swing back along with Jackson returning to the fwd line. Take your pick out of Butters, Heeney, Walsh, Dunkley, Green, etc. For next round Cadman to Garcia could be one trade sorted and I would look to use a boost again for possibly Lazzaro, Darcy or Sharp (126 rolls out his price cycle).

Feel like Brown can make some more $ and has good JS - especially as with Martin and Daicos my back line is effectively only one premo from complete at this stage… Will wait on that F6 decision.

Carroll was gone for Graham before we got Bevoed with Sanders on Friday night… so yep, one of the loose threads I’d wanted to cut. Comben’s price and injury history makes him iffy, but a risk reward proposition. Thanks. Playing later than Caroll makes him handy this week too. Thanks.

It may not get you many additional points this round, but I’d do Clark or ZReid to Comben. He’s been hotly debated but I think Comben will be handy strategically to hold up an onfield spot up forward until we have more info about the better forward premo targets. Clearing deadweight at the earliest opportunity is an underrated move.

Round afterwards, grab Nyuon and Garcia and one of Butters or Green.

Really stuck on trades this week..

Currently ranked 5,950 with $174,100 cash in the bank.

McKercher to Graham a definite trade but struggling with the second (and possibly third).

Strongly considering Windsor to either Walsh one week early or possibly Young. Am I missing any other obvious options?

Want to keep Howes but it will leave me with best 18/21 this week unless I sell either Z. Reid or Hore, who aren’t worth anything at the moment and will both be back soon - but do they clog up the defence line, especially next week when Martin and Roberts will be M/D eligible (and with Daicos already sitting in the mids)?

Third trade, if I did do it, would likely be Z.Reid to Nyuon but not sure it’s worthwhile this week?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

If you got Sanders out in time to Graha, then McKercher to Comben. If you didn't perhaps Windsor to Graham.

I got Green last week - could only wish for 110s like Merrett has delivered …..

Got Butters this week who didn’t have the same issues thankfully!
