Right now he’s firmly in the mix. Don’t think he’s a good trade in though.
Thanks to those who have responded to my first post on Reid.
@dicksilverman whats your thinking … why not trade him in now?
I usually wouldn’t trade someone in if I have missed the boat value-wise, but if he’s around the top-10 mark he’s still a nice price - its now or never as Footywire has him going up heaps more in the next few rounds.

I'm bringng in Walsh (no surprise) but taking a big punt on Taylor Adams with Garcia (one of them) as the rookie. McCrae other option but when Libber comes back - he'll push out again I fear.
I assume Libba is back this week. i think Macrae is an outrageously risky pick. Paying $480k for a guy who is a real chance of being starting sub or getting subbed out as shown by Bevo, or he could even get dropped. In a perfect world if he plays as a midfielder and avoids the vest every week then he would be great value, but i can't take the risk.

Just don’t think there’s any trend/history to suggest it’s sustainable. Relying on his pure talent, which looks awesome, but he only has 2 1/2 good games to base his future potential on. Still, if he can average 90+ here out he’d be a ‘good’ pick.

reid could be a forward keeper looking at how average the options are

Laird started off a decent POD but TOG% and role concerns me now. Looking at one of the following trades assuming both zwilliams & Mass are good to go.

Sharp>McAuliffe
Dempsey>Macrae
Laird>Rowell

Or…

Sharp>McAuliffe
Dempsey>Zorko
Laird>Flanders

Basically it’s a Macrae/Rowell vs Zorko/Flanders call. Both have their risk with Macrae (Bevo) and Zorko 35yo with injury risk. Which would be the better option?

I think he is referring to strong scores….Powell was poor yesterday and price will only drop from here….Phillips also included yesterday….time to cash out now and move on to a proper permium

yeh I meant scoring with Powell like the higher 90's and occassional tons pretty much 3 in 4 weeks.. that is over especially as Sheezel will move into mid gradually this season as something needs to be done.... I have enough trust in Clohesy/Graham and a few other rookies to do the job Powell/Horne Francis do maybe 10 or pts less average but I gain the big score possibilities of Dawson and Daicos.. Dawson even with Crouch I like him, great few rounds ahead for him too.

No Gawn is killing my soul too but I’m thinking the smarter play is a $550k Marshall with round 15 bye rather than $700k Gawn with round 14 bye.
I’ll want Trac and Stewart in next few weeks too who also share round 14.
If Gawn is still the man then can grab him in round 15.
Yeah, you're right. It's bloody burning me though. I nearly went Grundy to Gawn a few weeks ago...

It's probably insane but I've got a gut instinct that sanders has a lot more to give. Also I can afford to not use him in my upgrade cadence the next month (massimo, lazz, Wilson, Darcy, howes all likely to reach harvest in that time, not counting reid or roberts) to let the low score get out of his system.

Or should I just bite the bullet, accept that bevo has killed him and keep one of my current 3 outs of sharp/dempsey/williams instead.

Probably true but we can only use the information we have. Bulldogs seem determined not to work him too hard which will keep stalling his price. The constant subbing is more of a threat to his price than someone else getting full games.

Bit of an X v Y for me this week & keen to hear a few thoughts.

X
Out: MCrouch, Bramble, Sharp
In: Petracca, Walsh, Garcia

Few DPP swings here to make it work and leaves me with 6 premos missing Round 14. Not sure how I feel about that number; reckon it's a little high. Wasn't sold on Walsh's body holding up this season & never really considered him which scares me a little.

Y
Out: Bramble, Zilliams, Sharp
In: Petracca, MAndrew, Garcia

Don't know how I feel about gambling Andrew being a solid 90-100 scorer across the season, but he's being scored well at present. Is he a keeper?

Next week: D'Ambrosio, Lazarro & Dempsey for Bont & two rooks.
I wrote about Andrew last week being an option. No one wanted to talk about it much. I've seen 3 games of his 1 live 2 ground. Passed the eye test as being solid, but not uber premium. Good creativity and importantly skill execution. He doesn't have that Sheezel / Dacois all my team mates want to give it to me feel.

Walsh has at least done a mini preseason by the looks. I think there is a risk that Pitto goes out of the side and Carltons clearances go down, forward 50 pressure goes up, capping some of Walsh's scoring. Along with the injury risk, it's now or never on both.

Considered waiting on Petracca?

I actually thought LDU turned a corner against the Hawks. His effort was up (ableit not peak Touk effort). Some of his his F50 kicks were a bit hack, impprove that, and he would have scored v well on the weekend. Selection wise the Roos just needed a second target, Comben was not that target. I think you're selling at his scoring floor.
