Have both Steele and Marshall but want to get rid of some of my maxed out rookies as well and there's a lot of alarm bells there over Marshall. Hopeful Steele can get something solid against North and Hawks but I wouldn't be upset if they gave him a week off to refresh and come good.

Good luck to everyone with their trades this week, doesn't look like it's going to get any easier with the byes to come as well. I guess a positive out of this is that it's an opportunity to catch up if you play it well.

I have both too, Marshall IMO needs to go based on injury and current form, Steele is also a problem, but I think I just need to ride him out for now and re-assess at a later date all be it maybe at a reduced value.

Surely that trade people are considering for Steele to prem X could be better spent on rookie/mid pricer Y to prem X???

Yes we have more trades and boosts but can't see how the rule of thumb on trading for suspensions/LTIs changes that much.

The time for sideways prems for coin finished a couple of rds ago imo

I think it's a foresight/hindsight decision.
If 3-4 weeks from now Steele is playing well and has worked his way thru it holding will have been the right call.
If he is still bothered obviously you will have wished you had traded.
A real split roads decision for owners.

What gets me is he has North this week. If he’s even half a chance of making a 90-110 score against an opposition, it’s them. If he rests the week after getting a score like that, I’m not complaining, as he’d miss the Maginness tag and potentially be good to go against Freo.

Although it may not be correct to trade him out, where there's smoke there's fire normally. I've held on to damaged premiums just to watch them week after week pump out 70s and 80s. I don't mind the Steele trade assuming you are going to a super prem, which I probably will be with Green, the fact Steele is 610k makes the trade a bit better to swallow.

The thing is, people go "oh here we go, same old Steele, playing through injury while he bleeds value" and when you point out it's only been 1 game they go "yeah and 84 the week prior, clearly something's wrong, he's gotta go".

But I distinctly remember Bontempelli, Green, Butters and Miller scoring in the 70s and 80s this season, and Daicos, Petracca and Dawson scoring in the 50s and 60s. All unaffected by injury, as far as we know. The 84 came in a 10-goal loss where he played a full 86% game time, got 27 touches etc., but he had 5 clangers and stunk it up with his disposal efficiency and his score reflected that. How can that be linked to him playing with an injury?

The 70 against Port may or may not have been injury-affected (all signs point to yes), but if not for the previous week's 84 I reckon people wouldn't be so quick to torch him because they wouldn't have a $25k loss in value staring them in the face.

One thing I would say is that over the past fortnight his kicking efficiency has been poor and he has favoured handballing, which might suggest a leg concern. But I also note he scored 149 from 7 kicks in 2020.

If he is carrying something, it might be short-term and able to be played through. I want to see how he goes against North. I'm not sold that he's been relegated to the 70-90 zone just yet.
