The thing is, people go "oh here we go, same old Steele, playing through injury while he bleeds value" and when you point out it's only been 1 game they go "yeah and 84 the week prior, clearly something's wrong, he's gotta go".

But I distinctly remember Bontempelli, Green, Butters and Miller scoring in the 70s and 80s this season, and Daicos, Petracca and Dawson scoring in the 50s and 60s. All unaffected by injury, as far as we know. The 84 came in a 10-goal loss where he played a full 86% game time, got 27 touches etc., but he had 5 clangers and stunk it up with his disposal efficiency and his score reflected that. How can that be linked to him playing with an injury?

The 70 against Port may or may not have been injury-affected (all signs point to yes), but if not for the previous week's 84 I reckon people wouldn't be so quick to torch him because they wouldn't have a $25k loss in value staring them in the face.

One thing I would say is that over the past fortnight his kicking efficiency has been poor and he has favoured handballing, which might suggest a leg concern. But I also note he scored 149 from 7 kicks in 2020.

If he is carrying something, it might be short-term and able to be played through. I want to see how he goes against North. I'm not sold that he's been relegated to the 70-90 zone just yet.
I'm far from saying he is in that 70-90 zone (yet), lol. I was saying I have been in the situation of holding a premium and to see them pump out 70s and 80s where they are clearly injured, when I should have traded. I can go from a maybe injured, maxed out Steele to an under 600k, fit Green with a profit. Yes, he may have just had a couple down scoring games, but I'm ok with that. People with maxed out trades may want to hold and reassess. It really looks like a 50/50 call to me.

Yes I've got no issue with the way people go, because it's a legitimate 50/50 call and it depends on what you can do with the trade (for example, I already have Green). Hindsight will be 20/20.

100% - hindsight will tell, could go either way. Would love clarification on what the restriction is.

I think it's a foresight/hindsight decision.
If 3-4 weeks from now Steele is playing well and has worked his way thru it holding will have been the right call.
If he is still bothered obviously you will have wished you had traded.
A real split roads decision for owners.
This is a good point. I remember holding Rockliff though a rough patch several years ago (I think it was one of those "just one more week" types of injury) and it just smashed my season.
