I reckon the stat to look at (backed up by eye test) is score involvements for Rogers, 8 of them last week yet he only kicked one goal. Teams are looking for players who can deliver into the forward line efficiently. Look at the Blues vs Cats last week: Blues crushed the Cats in the midfield/overall possession count, but had 45% DE in the forward 50 compared to the Cats 62%. That's why the Blues lost that game. They miss Docherty.

That's why I say I reckon Rogers JS is pretty good: his kicking and decision making unlocks the Suns forward line and elevates those players for the Suns, or at least did against a very competitive Eagles team.
Rogers is set until Rosas returns (still weeks away) unless he has a couple of shockers but I'd say JS is much stronger than any other rookie option in that area.

Looks like I'll go:
Option 1:

Actually have kept Cadman for now and traded Lazzaro. Fwd line is too thin. Lose a looping agent, but I need to spots to generate cash. Still have Clark on mid bench, I'd trade him instead and keet Lazzaro's DPP if I could but 3k short. Leaves only Clark and Zeid as "dead" rookies, but Zeid could return soon.

Not completely sold on Rarcia/Bevo. Only other option there would be to go a week early on Jones...

In his 1st game he was pretty much locked deep forward and just playing that crumbing/hassling role. I reckon the coaches then instructed him to get further up the ground and become more involved around clearances and transitional turnovers. It's a similar game to Jones although he is playing even further up the ground.

That and the fact the Suns got belted. Doesn’t help a forward’s scoring if they’re not in the half where most of the game is happening.

Option 3 of the first lot. Dale could be a cash play and possibly a serviceable D6.

Dunkley option above. Cadman to Jones could allow Roberts to Petracca via Clohesy in RD9. Depending on what Thomas scores, he could be traded down to a Simpson/Hardeman instead of upgrading Roberts in RD9. Ideally will run Reid and rookies at F4-F6 for a few more rounds.
Deciding to hold Grundy and not bank the 74 from Sweet and instead field Wilson against NM. Not confident of making an immediate points gain by swapping to another premium (eg Dunkley). Unfortunately the scheduling next round does not allow a full look at Sweet prior to Grundy so sitting on a large cash reserve could allow Grundy and say Thomas/Darcy/etc to Petracca and premium, otherwise will likely continue to hold Grundy. Also allows a one up and one down if I wish to grab Hardeman/Simpson/Jones. Alternative is trading Roberts to Moore and thus reversing Dempsey to Rogers, as I feel like Roberts will post his lowest score of the season (sub 70) but leaves approx $90k left and will push a mid upgrade fine (would need Comben/Darcy as the trade out over one of Thomas/Dempsey) so less inclined to go down that path in case of the worst case scenario eventuating.

Really tempted to go Roberts to Mckercher. Nets me 150k and Mckercher fills the same role with the same scoring power, and the ability to make another 150k. Anyone else considering this?
It's the week to do it given how poor the Saints are against defenders this season. I strongly considered a Kerch trade in this week, just couldn't overlook the two rookies on the bubble + an upgrade. I think its a really good EV + play that will show its worth over the rest of the season, and possibly short term too.

Boring trades for me this week. Taking a hit this round and doing a double downgrade. (Ran out of boosts 🤣) Originally was going Dale but it would have completed my defence but I wanted to leave a spot open for Stewart/Ryan.

OUT: Campbell & Sharp
IN: Sweet & Rogers

Have done Grundy/Sharp to Sweet/Merrett.

Sweet not to be a keeper, reassess at Soldos return and/or Port Adelaides bye.

Side needs to keep generating cash to complete upgrades and was going to trade out Cadman to Rarcia/Rogers, had myself set on Rarcia despite Bevo with his lower BE and price.

However when teams were named and Pink came back into the NM team have decided that my only (with the exception of Livingstone) non player is Sexton so he can go.

Was still set on Rarcia but revisiting this thread has me thinking Rogers might be better.

Don't really think there's a lot in it so will probably still take Rarcia unless there is a storm of negativity here.

Meek (56 BE) has English, Marshall and Sweet in his next 3.
Although I'd like to get English (90 BE) done, it could be worth holding the extra 3 weeks with Sweet R3 as insurance and get others offield asap.

Dempsey > Sweet
Bonner > Green
Mass/Powell > Merrett

Decided to skip on Green for now. I want to keep a bit of flexibility in trades with rookies in mind. Jones playing the same game will dictate if I need the rookies this round

Updated to Thomas out with Dempsey returning. Looping Wilson and Garcia. If Dempsey is sub then so be it as he will be out next round.

Have been super busy the last couple of weeks and haven't had much time to invest into some quality SC research.

Dempsey/Comben > Dawson/Sweet were my trades.

Played around with my last boost, but I couldn't justify burning it for Dawson/Sweet/Rogers. Would rather a 2 up 1 down in the next week or two, if possible.

Will likely regret fading Rogers!

Just the 2 for me this week in Powell & Sharp to Sweet & Green. Save the boost for next week with Trac & Ryan on the radar.

Ok - desperate times, desperate measures with Green and Rozee in my side. Had convinced myself to go Comben to Dale this week - even if it's just a cash grab, but now spooked that imma run out of trades due to all of these premo injuries.

So...either Comben to Dale (original plan)...OR Powell to Nic Martin? Doesn't help that North's game starts in just an hour or two
