Bonaparte is the first to lose a rider in the Giro so far, as Lutsenko was a DNS in stage 9.

Kooij over Merlier worked out this time. Thought there may be a sprint stage or two that Kooij could survive where some other sprinters may get dropped, he's one of the better sprinters in those hillier stages. So despite dropping a rider, Bonaparte likely leads right now.
Merlier apparently suffering the effects of his crash a couple of days back (in the TT)... might struggle to be relevant in the short term.

Paret-Peintre was one rider I definitely considered selecting as a possible stage winner, but I probably would have picked the one who came fifth overnight, rather than the one who won if I did pick one of the brothers. Not often two brothers both have top 5 results, I know the Yates brothers did it in one stage of a race last year, but even they rarely manage to both do well. Good points for those who picked Bardet in 2nd too.

Merlier relegated from 2nd to 89th. I initially wondered why he was so far back, but despite no points, it looks like he has recovered for those who selected him.

Milan with another win is good to see, keeps the points ticking along for most of us.

Should be a good stage to tune into tonight. Tough mountain stage, normally it is the type of stage to determine a GC winner, but unlikely this time. Still should be worth watching. Hopefully I can stay awake...

I won't get a chance to update scores this weekend, as I have quite a bit on, and the next two weeks are also crazy busy before I get a break. I'll hopefully get an update out before the final stages next weekend, but it's looking like I'll be working at least one day next weekend at this stage, so I may have to update everything a few days post race. Looking at the results of the last week, I think it will be very close towards the top right now, and Ganna winning overnight probably makes it even tighter.

Apologies for the delay in results, but I did expect I'd be flat out around now, was just hoping for a bit more free time.

Looking forward to tonight's stage... Looking like the most brutal stage of the Giro (at least with no Stelvio next stage).

And speaking for myself, don't sweat on the delay of results. Appreciate all your're doing, so get it done when you can.

You and Dravid have the same 4 out of the top 5 in GC atm.
I know. I'm having to hope Merlier continues to miss top 10 results from here on in both stages 18 and 21 and also misses top 5 overall in the points to have any chance of finishing ahead of Dravid. Unlikely, but Merlier still has to get to those sprint stages, it is another tough stage tonight.

I doubt Tiberi holds onto a top 5 spot as well, he lost a fair bit of time in the last stage. Unlikely I get too many more points from him, so others will catch up points there.

I'm mainly just wanting to improve on my 8th place for the Giro from last year though, after good results in the other two grand tours.
